We arrive back at the camp, ditching the souvenir shop. It's still raining and we head to our tents and everything is soaked. There's pools of water inside both of our tents plus the guy's tent. We're all salty and frustrated as we try to set up the big whit tent we had used the other day. We can't seem to get it so we all head back onto the bus with our bags and everything.
"Ok, I know we are all soaked, our stuff is soaked and we're all frustrated." Emma says to us as we all sit on the bus. We all nod in agreement.
"So what's gonna happen is we'll move our tents to the top of the hill where the other camp was. Then I'll take sleeping bags, pillows, and blankets to the laundromat and dry them." She finishes.
Yesssss I think, feeling relived that I won't have to sleep in a wet sleeping bag.
We all head off the bus and pick up our tents and start walking them towards our new campsite. We set the tents up on the hill and stake them back into the ground. It takes a while but we finally get settled back in after we dry out the inside of our tents. Emma comes back with our stuff and we stack it in the middle of the pavilion for everyone to grab. I take my stuff into Naomi's tent and drop it off and head back under the pavilion. Olivia had been cooking dinner for us which was nice of her, she made noodles with Alfredo sauce or marinara, and it was really good. Naomi's mosquito bites had gotten a little better and she said that it hurt less, but that it was really hard on the hike. Naomi looks around and then grabs a tortilla shell, Chris gives her a weird look as she moves it towards her ankle. She freaking pops a mosquito bite with a tortilla shell. Trying to muffle our laughs we eat dinner and hang out until we see an old guy walk over.
"Hey I just stopped by to see what this bus was and everything." He asks with an accent.
Emma walks over to talk to the guy and some others follow.
"Is it like a shuttle?" He asks, "Because I've been seeing it coming through a lot and was wondering." He trails off.
Emma explains everything, that we were from the Howell nature center on an excursion and what the Alexandria foundation was. We talk with him for awhile and somehow get him to donate to the foundation or something, I don't really know exactly. He offers tarps and a camper but obviously we can't accept the stuff but thank him. He tells us a story about how we got his front two teeth knocked out by a horse and then take a picture with him. He leaves and we put away the dinner stuff. Kelvin and Madison do dishes and of course kelvin complains about not knowing what to do and how he's never done dishes before at his house but that he had to do them yesterday. He did a sucky job yesterday and me and someone else had to take over after they abandoned it. Only child privileges, geez. Ha. I kinda tried to stay away from kelvin cause I was still waiting to text erika and sofie, my friends from home. Since we were so close to the amp store we were able to get wifi from the tents so that was nice.
"Hey were still good right?" Kelvin says from behind. I turn to face him.
"Yeah were good." I assure, still looking at him.
"It's just that you don't really seem interested at all and..." he trails off looking down and running his fingers through his hair.
"No I promise that's not the issue." I assure once again. It didn't bother me that he was worried, it showed he cared, right? Right. Right? Idk. Whatever.
A little while passes and we set up the large white tent over a fire pit and start one. Emma had surprised us by buying the color packets that made the fire change colors so that was pretty cool of her. Molly and I talk in sign language since kelvin had started talking to Chris in Albanian and it was pretty funny watching him trying to figure out what we were saying. Especially since we'd look at him and then sign and laugh, we weren't saying anything bad though lol. He would keep smiling at me though. We stand around the campfire for a while,
"So this is our last night together guys." Emma says.
:(
"And Olivia and I just wanted to say how great of a group you guys all were and how much fun we've had with you guys." She continues. We all smile and nudge each other.
"But I think it's about time to call it a night." She finishes, looking around at us. I see kelvin looking at me from the corner of my eye, I turn and smile and he smiles back, putting his head down taking off his hat and running this fingers through his hair again. Im gonna miss these guys :( but I couldn't get sad yet cause I still had to deal with them for 8 hours straight on the way back home. So we all head into "our" tents and say goodnight and stuff. I pretend to be asleep as Emily and Kate ask for help with the tent since there's had flooded again. I'm such a great friend. We hear people moving and talking outside,
"Meredith you need to come out your in the wrong tent and you know it." I hear Emma say.
Ugh.
"Ugh comiiiiing." I groan. I start to sit up and grab my backpack and I hear a bunch of rain come down.
"Never mind meredith you can stay there! Goodnight!" I hear Emma say as she runs away from our tent.
Okay then.
I layback down with naomi and I pull out my iPad. I check Instagram and Snapchat and text sofie and erika. I fill them in on kelvin and everything although sofie didn't seem interested until I mentioned kelvin, she had just needed her knitting needles. I definitely believed that. Whatever. I put it away and I can tell people are exhausted so I just lay my head down and fall asleep.
I wake up at about 1:00 am and hear someone come into the tent.

Just kidding, ya nasties.
