I open my eyes to find the little mare still asleep on the bed. I quietly get up and head downstairs. I grab a bowl from a cupboard and fill it with diced carrots. I place the bowl on the ground and head back upstairs to wake the pony.

"Hey," I say as I gently shake the pony. "Time to wake up." She opens her eyes and yawns as her wings... wings... open up. I rub my eyes but the wings are still there. Flying lessons. That ought to be fun. "Can you fly?"

The Pegasus looks up at me nervously and shrugs. The miniature wings begin to beat quickly and the small horse's eyes shut in concentration. The little figure begins to hover an inch off the bed before she falls on her stomach.

"We'll work on it later," I say. "Do you want some food?"

I open Safari on my iPhone and type in 'pegasus.' The results came up with references to children's' books, several tv shows, and greek mythology. When I clicked on images, my heart nearly stopped. Some of the images were of an older version of the pony I have.

Same long, pink hair, yellow fur, emerald eyes, and shy appearance. The only difference was the pink butterflies on her flank.

When I clicked on the image, a website called Equestria Daily popped up on my screen. The article was talking about how much the person appreciated a character called Fluttershy. I read the article further to discover that this 'Fluttershy' character won the 'Best Pony' poll last year.

I exited the browser and looked at the yellow pony staring at the outside world through a window. Her eyes glowed with amazement as a bird landed in the yard.

"Fluttershy," I whispered. "I'll call you by your real name; Fluttershy."
