Have you ever experienced guilt from hiding something from someone for too long? Like keeping secrets? I do. At least now I do.
I drop the groceries in my hands when I see a shocked Fluttershy staring at the computer screen which is playing My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
She turns to me when she hears the groceries.
"Wh...who... Is-Is that...me?"
I give a sigh. "Fluttershy, I think its time we talk."
I tell her everything I know. Where and how I found her, what research I did, discovering the show, and how I tried to keep it secret. She has a lot of questions, few I cannot answer. But one really stands out.
"Am...am I really a fake pony?"
I lean forward and give her a hug. "Of course not. You are a real pony. That Fluttershy on the computer is just a voice behind a motion picture. You are real and you are free to live your life however you want to." She sobs quietly for a few minutes. "Do you want to take a nap?"
She sniffles and looks at the floor. "That... that would be nice."
I know she will have trouble recovering from this discovery but I'm sure she'll get over it over time. She knows who she is.
