Chapter 7: A Scramble to Find Her

It's been 2 days.

2 full days since my beloved ran off on her own with no explanation. 2 days since she pried herself from my arms, and hasn't contacted me or the others yet. Akira says she hasn't been to school at all. I was worried, so I contacted her parents, who notified me graciously that she had gone missing. Of course, that left me in an utter panic, as I wondered where she could possibly be.

I'm restless, I can't think straight and I need to find her.

"That's why I've gathered you all here today."

"Yeah, you don't hafta tell us twice! She's our precious comrade too!"

"I'm worried, I do hope she's okay."

"Is she really missing? Hmm, it's just like that episode of the anime I'm watching."

"Don't worry Yusuke, we'll definitely get her back."

Akira smiled reassuringly to me. I am currently at Leblanc with my group of friends, trying to piece together where she could be, as we were the ones who saw her last, based on the date and time she went missing given by her parents. Makoto pipes up.

"Was it just me, or was she acting really weird when she left the other day. Somehow, I get the feeling that it has to do with why she's missing now."

I nod in agreement.

"Yes, something was off. I can't be sure if that's why she's gone now, but it definitely seems suspicious if something was on her mind right before she disappeared. What where we talking about just before she left?"

"We were talking about our next target."

"Akira scolded you two for being all lovey-dovey."

Um, that couldn't be it. I'm sure she's very comfortable with me at this point.

"I was fiddling around on my phone a bit, and she was asking. Then Ryuji..."

"Um, I was tellin' her how we use the Nav... And then she suddenly started acting weird and ran off. Wait, don't tell me-"

When Ryuji makes that statement, all of our faces went pale.

"There's no way."

"We couldn't have known!"

"She's been there alone for two days..."

"My God."

Out of sheer anger and fear, I cry out.

"Ryuji! Look what you've done!"

"Why are you singling me out?!? We couldn't have known, and getting mad ain't gonna help now."

"For once, I'm going to agree with Ryuji. We need to focus on figuring out where she is, and saving her."

Morgana's logic is enough to settle me down for the time being.

"That's true, thank you. Akira, if you would please open the Navigation app. Let's do this as quickly as possible. We can't waste a second when she's in danger, possibly getting attacked by Shadows."

My earlier sense of urgency returns.

"Wait, but she's been in there for a really long time. What if she's...?"

"Ann! Don't say it!"

I can't bear to let that thought cross my mind. Oh my love, where are you?!?!

Akira senses my scrambled state of mind, and starts taking the lead.

"First, we need to figure out who's Palace she is in. I doubt it's Mementos, since she couldn't have guessed that in the Nav."
