27 - Just in time or too late?

''You're awake. That's okay.'' Nagato said, holding Naruto's chin. Naruto gritted his teeth. He couldn't fight back.

''Whatever!'' He yelled in his face. Nagato was annoyed. He slapped Naruto in his face.

''Don't talk to me like that. Anyway, we're done with the preparations. The Pains and Konan just escaped. Let's go, shall we? Oh, one more thing. Don't try to escape. These cuffs will absorb your chakra.'' Said Nagato as he was holding Naruto.

''What's the plan when we're inside?'' Ino asked.

''Just get Naruto and let's get out of the village. If we get catched, we all are gonna die.'' Kakashi said.

Ino felt someone trying to contact her with telepathy. She looked at Sai in a way he would know what was going on. So he grabbed Ino and carried her like a princess. She blushed and smiled, then she closed her eyes.

''What's it, Neji?'' Ino asked.

''We saw the Akatsuki with Naruto. They are in their new base. It's between the Hidden Rain and Amegakure. We have Kisame. We could try to trade him for Naruto, but you guys have to return immediately! We need your help. Also, Temari and Kankuro are unharmed, but their opponents escaped. See you soon!''

She gets back and tells everyone. They return. Gaara and Sai carried everyone with their sand and drew birds so they would go faster.

''Intruders. They have Kisame.'' Zetsu suddenly said.

Nagato was just done with Naruto, he tied him up so he couldn't escape. ''Kisame? That's one of our best men. Let's check it out.''

The door opened. Neji, Temari, Lee, Kankuro, Tenten, Kiba, Hinata, and Shino stepped inside, with an unconscious Kisame. He had blood everywhere.

''How did you defeat Kisame? He's one of our strongest.'' Nagato asked with interest.

''Well, things started to look bad for us, but when Konan and the Pains disappeared, we all could focus on Kisame, who was left behind by you guys,'' Kiba explained.

Nagato nodded. ''And I don't think you want to give him back so easily?''

''We want to trade him. For Naruto Uzumaki.'' They all said at the same time.

Naruto's eyes widened.

''I'm sorry but I can't do that. Can we trade him for a Pain puppet?'' He asked.

''Definitely not. We're only interested in that blonde.'' Temari said.

''You will give us Naruto. As the future heiress of the Hyuga clan, I order you to return him immediately.'' Hinata said.

Naruto blushed.

''You're the Hyuga heiress? Disappointing. But no. You have no rights with the Akatsuki. Now, if you'll excuse us, we have a Ghetto Statue that likes his meal.''

Tenten got her weapons ready. From ax to kunai, all were there. Everyone grabbed Tenten's weapons and all were about to stab Kisame.

''Put those weapons down. I'm sure we can make an other deal...'' Nagato said.

Tenten's ax slowly touched Kisame's skin. ''Naruto Uzumaki now. Otherwise, we'll kill this guy immediately without hesitation.'' Kankuro said cold.

Nagato looked at the others, who shook their heads. Then he turned back to them. ''Whatever. We have no deal. The Jinchuriki is hard to catch and is now in our custody. We won't give him away, even if it means that the enemy kills our comrade.'' The door closed.

Everyone was stunned. Hinata couldn't take it and stabbed Kisame with a kunai in his heart. Shino grabbed his pulse and put two fingers on it. ''Dead.'' He declared.

''We're here!'' The other group said.

''Where's Choji?'' Ino asked.

''Still sleeping. He had used up too much chakra. So even if we now wake him up, he would be no help, only a burden.'' Temari said cold.

''So what about Naruto?'' Sasuke asked.

''We tried to trade this guy for him, but we failed. Then Hinata killed him out of sadness and anger.'' Neji explained.

''I see. We have no other option. Let's go inside now!'' Kakashi said. Sakura laid a punch on the door. A small crack appeared, but nothing more. Everyone placed a paper bomb on the door. The door disappeared, and they ran inside, seeing that Naruto was...
