Right outside the city of Bellingham, Washington was a little town named Midnight. It was a small town, population 565, with only one stoplight and one grocery store- and they were quite proud of it, thank you very much. It was a rather mysterious and enigmatic town, and outsiders would describe the citizens of Midnight as peculiar, strange, and downright creepy.
Everyone knew Lemuel, the vampire who lived above Bobo Winthrop's pawn shop, and his deadly girlfriend, Olivia. Midnighters would describe them as a cute couple. Outsiders who describe them as suspects in murder cases.
Everyone knew Fiji Cavanaugh, the witch who lived at the end of Main street. Midnighters described her as a pretty young woman who had quite a few talents. Outsiders described her as a freak of nature, a child of Satan.
Everyone knew Joe Strong, the fallen angel who worked in the tattoo parlor alongside his husband. Midnighters described him as a strong protector, a friend to all. Outsiders described him as "the tall, homosexual one".
And then there was Sang, the haunted young woman who moved there five years ago, the one who lived in a small cottage a few minutes out of town. Midnighters described her as a hard working journalist, and their resident medium. Outsiders described her as downright wrong.
Everyone knew everyone in this small town, and everyone protected everyone. So, when the nine exorcists came into town, the Midnighters sure as hell noticed.
