Chapter 15: The First Game

After all the boring classes, it was finally time for the good part of school. But today it is the game. The first game of the year. I am pumped! 

We are going to be using game bullets. This is going to be awesome. This season will start with the gamemode "War". Both teams are going to be teleported to a battle field mock. That means it's going to look like a battle field. Craters. Barbed wire. Trenches. Everything really. They even issued vehicles. APC's, ATV's, transport trucks, AFV's. All of that. And yes. The map is so big, you need vehicles.

As a grunt you're given gear depending on the country your school is in. We are given German gear, of course.

As for the Paladins, they're given the English military gear.

I am so ready. I had the standard issued rifle in my hand with the gear jumping up and down.

"Wow. Are you ready?" Angela says laughing when she sees me.

"Hell yeah!" was all I could spit out. 

She stops me in my place and kisses me. "Stay safe, my brave soldat..."

"Well if I get another one of those if I do, then you won't even see a scratch on me."

She kisses me again, gives me a hug and walks over to her fellow veterens. They're pretty much the generals.

I was waiting for my name to be up with a general.

"Jason Archilles...Genji. (F/N) (L/N)...Mercy..."

This made me even more happy. I was put with Angela! When I walked to Angela's unit she comes up to me so we could talk. "Well, now I can keep a closer eye on you." She says with her sexy german accenct. We laugh at this. We keep talking until it was time. 

We walk to the teleporters that will put us onto the battle field...

Instantly we are in a dry land of dirt. There were 4 Humvees which we could use, along with 2 Transport trucks and 2 APC's

"Alright. Everybody! Get into one of the vehicles. If there isn't enough room for you then you make room. Ja? Ja." Angela says to the soldiers. Angela and I get to the the first humvee. I was in the drivers seat and Angela next to me. We had someone on the .50 cal and two others in the back. "Just wait until we get to the green light."

A good 20 minutes passed by until we are to go. I was focusing on the road cautiously looking around. Angela saw this, "Hey, it's okay.".

"I know. Just being cautious."

"Ja, Ich know." She turns on the radio which lets out some music. This did calm me down alot.

2 hours have passed and we got our first orders. We had to get to support Tracer's unit at a bridge. We're close to it as well. Everyone can hear the gun fire. I look at Angela and even she is nervous. I take her hand which seems to calm me down a bit. We finally get there.

Almost at once our humvee gunners open fire. Everyone riding quickly gets out with their rifle in hand. We needed cover. I run right to a building a few feet away from the bridge. They had us pinned. Angela and a few other field medics were pulling Knocked out soldiers away to get them back to health. They had these syringes That woke them up, with the acception of Angela who had a staff that did the same thing. But these syringes only worked once on the person so they cant get KO, wake up, KO and then wake up. Only Angela could do that.

A bullet wizzed by and hit a soldier running towards the cover I was in. I don't know what to do. I look at Anegla run for another KO'd soldier, but before she could get to her, she was hit in the shoulder, leg and the side of her stomach.

"NO!" I screamed. As quickly as I could, I ran to her body while using covering fire with my rifle. I drag her into cover. She was KO'd...fuck. Then I remembered. Her staff! I quickly ran for it, but in return I took a hit to the leg. When I was back in cover I try to use the staff. I didn't know what the hell I was doing. I pressed something and it shot out a gold beam at her body, but catching me off guard making me jump back a little bit.

Angela slowly wakes up and sees me with her staff breathing hard. She then looks at my leg where a red mark showed (the bullets will hit you and become like a red paintball, leaving a red mark on the uniforms of the body part. It is what will hurt you. Once healed the antidote of the syringe will make that fall off). She takes her staff and heals up my leg. Before running off to help some more people, she kisses me and mouths out the words 'danke'. 

That's when I got an idea. When Angela gets back near me, I ask "Can I take a few soldiers to flank around the sentries on the bridge?"

She looks at me and says "Ja, that ist a good idea. Go ahead." .

I make a team of 15 soldiers, and we run a good mile away from the town and bridge, only to walk back except now behind the enemy lines. After a good run back, we could see an APC with a turret that has been giving us big trouble. We had a satchel charge with us, but we couldn't blow our cover. No pun intended. Instead we put two charges on the APC and continued on, going a route so it won't see us. The satchel charges don't blow the vehicle up, instead it will send a EMP through out the vehicle, rendering it useless, but also the current will be enough to KO anyone within the effected vehicle.

We had a found a good position to take pop shots at enemy soldiers, and we did exactly that. One after One were knocked out, and we KO'd enough now our troops have enough time to take shots without getting shot them selves

(I thought this might help you get a understanding of the battle. It's simple. Red dots are Paladin infantry. Blue are OW infantry. Black are the KO'd or dead, whatever you wanna say.)
