The bathroom was as good as a small home for 3 people. The incandescent lighting gave off a relaxing aura. Do they really need such space? I looked at myself at the mirror and noticed a few gashes on the side of my face. They’ll probably be gone in a few days. I studied myself for a while. I like the way my wavy hair falls just in the middle of my back. It’s brown, like a chocolate. Heart-shaped face. Pointed nose. Bright brown eyes. Hmm…I think I'm pretty. I smile at my reflection and shrugged the thought off, then started for the hot bath that the two lady servants are preparing for me.
The water is purple, and it smells soothingly like Lavender.
“Why is it purple?” I ask the two lady servants who are pouring contents of small bottles into the water.
“It’s because of the essential oils and the Lavender essence, Miss Brooke. It will help you feel better.”
“Oh,” I nod.
Elliot must feel like a god because of living here.
They finally stood up.
“Miss Brooke,” one of them said. “Please use the robe provided,” she said, making a gesture to the robe hanging by the door. “Just leave your clothes behind. We will have it washed and taken care of. Is there anything else you need, Miss Brooke?”
They all seem so nice. I pity them working for that Pigheaded Baboon.
I shook my head, returning a friendly smile. “Thank you.”
I waited for the two to leave the room before I take off my clothes and submerge into the bath. It feels good. It’s like I haven’t showered in days, but this is definitely better than shower. I laid my head against the cold surface of the tub and closed my eyes.
Where was I going? Would I have been able to avoid the accident if I took a cab instead? Or walked? I wouldn’t have probably encountered an accident if I was walking by the sidewalk, would I? Why did I take the bicycle? Was I in a hurry?
My eyes popped open. I need to talk to Elliot. He might be able to answer my questions.
Then, there was a knock on the bathroom door.
“Miss Brooke?”
It was one of Elliot’s lady servants.
“Dinner’s ready. Would you prefer to have it here in your room, or in the dining hall?” she asked.
“Would Elliot be there?”
“Yes, miss.”
That would be my chance.
“I’ll be down in a minute,” I replied.
I immediately dried myself off with a towel and slipped into the robe. I found a new pair of comfy slippers waiting outside the door. I immediately slip in them and started my way to the dining hall.
I headed downstairs. Gosh I'm like in a labyrinth or something. So many doors. Where is the dining hall? Should I go back to the entrance? Surely there would be someone here who could help me. Where the hell is the entrance anyway? I need to find the two grand stair case first. I need to go down. Hmm…I should be able to see it because there’s like a balcony in the middle that gives a view below to the entrance.
“Hello? Is anybody here? Can anybody help me?” I called out as I searched for the stairs. “I'm a bit lost here.”
“Miss Brooke!”
I jumped in surprise as I turned to see who called my name in hushed tones.
I felt so relieved to have found one of the lady servants who were preparing my bath earlier.
