I peek over at January to make sure she was still asleep. I gently remove her arm from around me rolling out of the bed as quietly as possible. I cautiously stand up... she moves. I almost shit my underwear as I watch her toss and turn but she stops.

Thank, God! She's going back to sleep.

I relax before tip toeing to the kitchen. "Mmm. If I was my baby what would I eat?" There was this tingly sensation in my stomach. "Not you little baby in my tummy! My other baby" A small smile tugs the corner of my mouth. I imagine butterflies swarming around the one in my belly playfully kissing all over her face.

I just know it's a girl. I groan running my fingers through my hair wrapping it into a tight bun. I haven't felt this way in a while. It was stronger than ever. I closed my eyes for a second praying this all wasn't some wicked dream because nowadays it seems like nothing is promised. "What are you doing?" I nearly jump out of my skin. "Fuck!  You scared the shit out of me" I place my hand over my heart thudding against my ribcage.

"Well, I was going to surprise you with breakfast" I frown at her. "Damn, I'm sorry. I woke up and you wasn't there and I panicked" I shake my head proceeding to pull out the pans, utensils and the ingredients I needed. "Good morning, beautiful" Her manicured fingers cascade down my thighs, back up again and around my waist pulling me closer.

She presses her soft lips onto my shoulder. Her sweet scent wraps around my skin snuggling me like a blanket. I noticed that feeling in my stomach multiply. Hordes of butterflies squirm up my throat while the stragglers burst out of my chest. Her eyelashes flutter against my skin like tiny little feathers; it almost tickled. The sensation that journeyed down my spine was invigorating.

"If I did one thing differently I wouldn't be here" she pauses to collect her thoughts. "It's a crazy thing to say but all the bullshit I put you through. All of the frustrations, hard aches and complications we felt from beginning to end..." Her eyes subtly twinkle as she murmurs. "I feel like it happened so we could end up here." she lifts her head connecting her eyes with mines.

"Through drought and famine, natural disasters. My baby has been around for me..." She softly sings, shuffling her feet and dancing along to the sound of her own voice. "Kingdoms have fallen, angels be calling. None of that could ever make me leave. Every time I look into your eyes I see it. You're all I need" she seizes my hand in hers. She gently raises my hand slowly twirling me like a princess.

She stops and sings from the top of her lungs "Oooooooh, who would've thought I'd get you. Oooooooh, who would've thought I'd get you" I couldn't help but snicker at her silliness. I lean against the kitchen bar just in awe as she performs. Hot tears brew in my eyes threatening to fall. It's almost like the happiness begins to radiate through my pores and unfortunately, my first response was to cry. I watch her a few more seconds and it wasn't long before tears begin to leak down my reddened cheeks.
