I'm walking outside on my porch with Miles, as it's still nighttime. "You know what? We don't have time for more research. We have to tell Will so he can defend himself against whoever is truly Mordred." I say. "Oh, yeah, that'll be great. Will, you're the reincarnation of King Arthur, you're step brother is Mordred, and he's going to try to destroy. Just kidding, Arthur here thinks you're brother here is actually trying to protect you by pretending to be evil. You going to eat those fries?" He asks. "Yeah. It's a little out there, isn't it? I mean, not about the part where Marco isn't Mordred." I say. "Yeah, we passed out there about five exists back. You're insane if you think Marco isn't Mordred." He says. "Maybe we should wait until we can do it without freaking him out." I say. "Good call." He says. "Yeah. But what if Marco or whoever the hell Mordred is tells him about Jen and Lance before that? Or me consumed by my guilt?" I ask. "Like your Mom said, that's Mordred's biggest weapon." He says, as I turn around, looking at him, as he's sitting down behind me. He won't use it until he's sure it's the final blow." He says, and I turn around, sighing. "I hope you're right." I say. "Of course I'm.." He says, and has another headache, but it's worse this time, as I look at him. "Miles?" I ask, and he falls on the floor as he's not blinking. "Miles?! Wake up! Say something!" I exclaim, running over and sit in front of his head, waving my right hand in his face. "Wake up!" I exclaim, and slap him, and he coughs, waking up. "Ow. And you could really use a breath mint." He says, and sits up. "Did you have a vision?" I ask. "Yeah. I think I saw Excalibur, but.." He says, and I interrupt him. "Where was ir? What did it look like?" I ask. "Well, if I saw what I think I saw, then.. it was pretty fucking awesome." He says, smiling at me, and I laugh. "You know, if Will is Arthur and I'm Morgan Le Fey, and Marco is Mordred, maybe you're Merlin the wizard. Merlin was a psychic." I say. "Doubtful. Merlin had a long, white beard. I can barely grow a nose hair." He says, and I laugh, and both stand up. I'm walking behind Jen and Lance, as we're walking to Mr. Moore's class, and I stop and look at Will, and he takes his jacket off, smiling at me, and I smile back. "Drool much?" Marco asks from behind me, and I look at him. "You're just jealous. Or pretending to be." I whisper in his right ear, and he looks at me, and I turn back around. "But then again, you have been for centuries. Not." I say, and walk past Mr. Moore to my desk, as he's ringing his bell. "Ok. Hurry up. This is your final test on King Arthur." Moore says, and we all cheer, and I sit down. "And you have exactly forty five minutes. Begin." Moore says, as I pull put a pencil from my right pocket, and start my test, as I already know all the answers because my parents are King Arthur fanatics. "What is that on the bottom of your shoe?" Moore asks, and we all look up at Will, as he unhooks his desk. "Give it to me." Moore says, as Will bends down and straightens back up, giving Moore a sticky note that's in his right hand, as Moore takes it with his left. "Looks like a cheat sheet." Moore says, and I give a small gasp. "That is not mine." Will says. "So, what, it just adhered itself perfectly to the bottom of your shoe, all by itself?" Moore asks. "No." Will says. "Don't lie to me, Mr. Wagner. How could.. I expect more from you than this." Moore says. "Dude, if you get caught cheating, you're out of the game on Friday." Lance says, and Will stands up. "Mr. Moore, you have to believe me! I did not cheat!" Will exclaims, and we all look at Moore. "Because of your spotless record and service to the school, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. This time." Moore says. "Thank you." Will says. "Sit down." Moore says, and Will sits down, and I hear Marco fake cough. "Special treatment." He says, as I look at him. "Quiet. Back to your tests." Moore says, and I look back to my test. It's after class as I follow Marco. "I know it was you who planted that cheat sheet, Marco." I say. "You don't know anything." He says. "I know more than you think. Walk with me?" I ask, grabbing his right wrist, and dragging him with me to the boys bathroom, and check the stalls as we're alone, and let his hand go. "Why in the hell are we in here?" He asks. "I know you're only trying to be evil to protect Will because he's King Arthur." I say, and he sighs, pulling out his necklace, as it's silver, looks like a shield with a bear on it. "This is the Order of the Bear. My Dad was a part of it. The less you know about me the safer you are. Who else knows?" He asks. "Miles doesn't believe me and my parents left the room before I could figure it out. I'm Morgan Le Fey or whoever. I'm part of this." I say. "I know. Just don't tell Will about Jen and Lance and we have to keep pretending to hate each other." He says, and I nod. "So who is Mordred?" I ask. "Mr. Moore." He says, and I gasp. "Play it cool. He likes you. Pretend you know nothing. And I know all about the Eclipse thing." He says, and tucks his necklace back in, and he runs off. I'm outside during Track practice, doing leg lifts and jogging, as I see the football players lift their feet up, making fun of Will, and he blows it off, and they get in position. "Ready. Down. Twenty. Forty five, hut!" One of the players exclaims, as I stop walking, and see them tackle each other, and they turn into Knights, as it looks like they're fighting each other, and they turn back to football players, and I hear the whistle blow from Coach Baxter, and run over, and see Sebastian get hit in the chest with the ball, and Coach Baxter blows the whistle again, as we look at the players. "Hey, hey, hey! What do you think you're doing?" Will asks, as Ben, the guy who threw the ball, turns around, facing Will. "Target practice." Ben says, and Will grabs the hem of his shirt. "Apologize." Will says, as Lance steps forward, as Ben takes his helmet off. "Why? You didn't get hurt." Ben says. "I'm sick of some of you guys acting like asshole and acting like you own the field." Will says. "Come on, Will. Just leave it alone." Lance says. "No! I'm the team captain, and I'm pissed off about this." Will says. "Maybe we should find a new captain. One with a sense of humor. Or maybe one who doesn't cheat on tests." Ben says, and punches Will in the jaw with his right hook, as Will falls on the ground. "Not again." I think to myself, as I run over to them, and Lance holds me back, as Will and Ben start fighting. "Let me go! Now!" I exclaim, headbutting him, and do a backflip swiftly over him, and land on the ground, and run over to Ben, hitting him in the jaw, hard, and he falls on the ground, groaning, as I didn't realize he had his helmet on, and I can feel the bone cracking, as I hold it and it's bleeding, as I hold it with my left hand, trying not to scream, and grab Will's right hand with my left, pulling him up. "Damn, your hand. You could of broke it." He says. "God, you're eye. Again. And I didn't even see the helmet. Its after practice and after a trip to the Nurse's office to get my hand wrapped, I walk to the back of the school, and see Will doing push ups on the bench, finishing up, and stands up. "Hey." I say, smiling, and he turns to look at me, and sits down. "Thanks for what you did out there. It was about time someone told that guy off." I say. "Me or you?" He asks, smiling, and I give a small laugh. "Well, I'm glad someone thinks I did something right today. How's your hand?" He asks, as I sit down next to him. "Hurts, but I'll be ok. Lance was the first fight I've ever been in, like, ever. Guess this school changed me." I say, and he laughs. "You stood up for yourself in class, you stood up for us out there. It takes a lot of courage to do what you do, and you do it all the time." I say, smiling. "Maybe I should start being a jerk, then no one will expect anything from me." He says, and I laugh. "You are constitutionally incapable of being a jerk." I say, and we smile at each other. "You know who else was brave like that? Who stood up for people? King.." I say, and he stands up. "Sorry. There's something I've got to try to do. But we'll have to talk later today, ok? About anything you want to talk about. Especially where we stand, if you want." He says. "Ok." I say, smiling. "So, see you." He says. "See you." I say, and he's about to walk off, and looks at me. "How did you do that headbutt and that swift backflip out on the field?" He asks. "Honestly, I have no idea." I say, and he runs off.
