"Marcel! Harry!" Anne exclaimed. She threw her arms around them and gave them huge hugs. I didn't know what to do so I just stood there with Marcel by my side. "Everyone come in!" She led us into the house. "Mom, this is (y/n) and Ayden." Marcel introduced us. "It's nice to meet you, (Y/n)." She gave me a hug. I was very surprised. "And it's nice to meet you too Ayden." She leaned down and hugged him. He was a little shy like he always was around new people. I knew he would warm up to her though. "Ayden is my son." Marcel blurted. Anne looked up to him. I could see her face went white. This is what I was scared of. I wanted to grab Ayden and leave. "Your son?" She whispered. She looked from me to Ayden and then to Marcel. Marcel nodded as he grabbed my hand. "Marcel, can I speak with you for a moment?" Anne asked him. She went to the backyard and Marcel kissed my head before he followed. I took a deep breath once the door closed behind him. "The tension in this room is thick." Harry chuckled. I couldn't laugh. I was too worried. "Mommy, I have to potty." Ayden told me. "I'll take him." Harry said. He brought him to the bathroom and I looked at the pictures that were around the room. Harry and Marcel seemed close when they were younger. Marcel looked adorable in his baby pictures. I smiled at some of them. Ayden looked just like Marcel when he was a baby. A few minutes later, I heard the back door open. I braced myself for what was to come. Marcel came up to me, "She would like to speak to you." My eyes went wide, "Is she mad?" He shook his head no. I nodded and went to the backyard. She was sitting down near a unlit fire pit. They probably used it for bonfires. Bonfires are fun. Oh gosh I'm getting distracted. "I'm sorry to have sprung all of this on you." I blurted out while I sat down. She smiled a little, "Marcel told me everything. I should thank you for giving him confidence in himself. He had very low self-esteem growing up. I would worry about it constantly. Harry was a social butterfly while Marcel liked to be home studying. You changed the way he looks at himself, (y/n)." I blushed, "He changed me too." "I wish I would've known about Ayden sooner. He looks just like Marcel." She gushed. "I wish he would've known sooner too. I was scared and I didn't know what to do honestly." I confessed. She reached over and grabbed my hand, "Well we have each other now. I'm excited to get to know my grandson and future daughter-in-law." She smiled. I nearly choked on my own spit. Gross. "Oh it's too early to tell about that." I chuckled. "Well don't you love Marcel?" She questioned. I nodded, "More than anything." She smiled, "I can tell he loves you just as much." I hugged her. I was surprised at the direction the conversation took. Anne was a lovely woman and I was very happy that things were well. "Now, lets go inside so I can play with my grandson." She said as we both stood up. She led the way inside and Marcel, Harry and Ayden were waiting in the living room. "Everything okay?" Marcel asked us as he came to stand by me. "Yes, Marcel. I could sense you worrying all the way outside." Anne joked. Marcel pulled me into a hug, "I can tell she loves you." I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. Then the I started to think about what when she called me her daughter in law. Has Marcel ever thought about marriage?
