A/N my chapter titles are such crap lol
Keith's P.O.V.
I lay in bed, quietly listening to the distant sound of cars driving by. The curtains are open, allowing a steady stream of moonlight to shine in, along with the yellowish light of a nearby lamppost. I stare up at the ceiling, unable to go to sleep. My mind slowly wanders to the events that had occurred a few nights ago.
It has been four days since I told Lance about my mother. And for some reason I couldn't forget the way he had held me and let me cry.
Every time I was near my heart would do a tiny flip of happiness. And when he smiled or laughed I was barely able to stop myself from joining in with him. I really enjoyed being with him and, and every time I wasn't I felt impossibly bored. I was used to being a loner, I've been one my whole life. But now being alone was a complete pain.
I sigh and turn so that I'm facing where Lance is lying in bed. He snores softly and his lips are upturned a little, as if he was having a pleasent dream.
I rub my eyes with my fingers and run a hand through my hair. Every time I look at him I get this feeling. A feeling that I hadn't felt since my mother died...
God, I'm acting like a love sick puppy.
I tried to get rid of the feeling. I didn't want to get attached to Lance. I know what happens to people when I get attached to them. I learned the hard way that the people you love are always the first to be taken away from you.
But no matter how hard a tried, I couldn't shake the feeling I always got when Lance was around.
I shake my head to myself and turn over again, finally falling into a dreamless sleep.
Lance's P.O.V.
I let out a silent yawn and stretch my arms. Slowly, I stand up, careful not to make too much noise. Keith is still sleeping soundly, which is rare, so I decide to let him sleep. Besides, it's Saturday, there was no point in waking up early.
After coming from the washroom I head over to our tiny kitchen. Now when I say tiny, I mean TINY kitchen. It was literally a small room with counters and cabinets lining around the walls. There was a small oven, stove, microwave and sink. Most of the food we had was from Hunk since he often came over to cook or bake stuff.
I take our a cook book- Hunk had also given me this- and start flipping through it. Five minutes later I come to the conclusion to make pancakes for breakfast. And I would also make some for Keith, of course.
I start to take out the ingredients and put them in a large bowl. I slowly begin to mix the, when I hear a tired voice behind me.
"Hey, Lance. What're you doing up so early," Keith mumbles, still half asleep. It occurs to me that I have never really seen Keith in the morning. Obviously, there are times I wake up before him, but those are really rare and he never really talks then, just shuffles into the bathroom.
It also occurs to me that in this moment Keith looks so damn cute.
"I was just, um, you know, making breakfast," I reply, running a finger through my hair.
Keith walks over and peers over my shoulder, into the bowl. "Whatcha makin?" He mumbles again and yawns widely.
"I'm making pancakes for us." I resist the urge to raise my hand and straighten his hair which were currently sticking up at the side.
"For...us?" He looks at me wearily.
"Well, yea. I'm making some for you as well."
"Oh." He blinks then whispers softly, "Thank-you."
"No problemo. The pancakes will be done in about 15 minutes." I smile at him and he returns it.
20 minutes later we are both sitting at the small table inside the kitchen and eating pancakes.
Keith nibbles at his pancake at first but then starts to devour them quickly. Between a mouthful he says, "Wow Lance, these are really good." He swallows and continues, "I would never be able to make something so tasty."
I grin. "It's one of Hunk's special recipes. Modified so that they are even tastier." Keith's hair still sticks up to the side and for some reason it's quite distracting.
I finish my food and Keith grabs my plate. "I'll wash the dishes since you made the pancakes," he says.
I nod and awkwardly stand beside him as he starts to wash the plate. Gosh, his hair was so annoying. I reach up a hand and run it through his hair in attempt to flatten it. Keith sends me side look but doesn't say any thing. His hair refuses to flatten but it was so soft...
Before I know it I'm just running my fingers through his soft hair, no longer bothering to flatten it. My finger reaches Keith's face and I enjoyed my thumb softly against his cheek. It occurs to me how close I am to Keith. I was close enough to kiss him...
Keith's fingers stop working on the dishes and he turn to me. "Lance..."
All I had to do was lean forward a little and I could kiss him. And I so so wanted to...
But I couldn't. Not yet anyways. Not until I was sure Keith likes me back. I wouldn't be able to endure the embarresment if I kissed him and he didn't like me.
So I pull away from him and walk out the kitchen, not saying word.
A/N haha this chapter caused me physical pain to write please don't kill me.
