Chapter 24

Kyara was on edge. She wouldn't talk to anyone but Shu. Even when Yui asked if she was hungry, even when Ayato stepped on Rina's tail and even when Laito made a dirty comment, she didn't react.

She was worried about when Mizuki came back with the 'guest'. Did she have grudge? Was she out for vengence? Was she going to ban Kyara from her music?

As soon as she heard Mizuki's limo pull up, she buried her head in Shu's shirt. "If anything bad happens I want... hell, I need you to stay behind me." She said.
Shu kissed her on the top of the head. "Not a chance, Ky."

Mizuki strutted into the living room eating red cotton candy. "If you are going to eat something covered in blood, don't let it drip. That carpet is an antique." Shu said, craning his head to look behind Mizuki.

"Well, isn't he... a sweetie." Said a girl's voice. A girl came into view. She looked around twenty, maybe twenty one. She had blue hair and red eyes. She wore a red jacket with a red skirt. One of her hands was abviously fake. It was silver and looked to be made of old armour.

"Shu, this is Tsubaki Seishin. Tsubaki this is Shu Sakamaki, oldest of the Sakamaki brothers." Mizuki introduced.

"Pleasure." Tsubaki said, shaking his hand. "Looks like little Kyara thinks that she can seduce a man,eh?"
"Excuse me?!"
"I guess you're right, you have a better chance than your sister."

"Tsubaki Seishin, everyone." Mizuki said as if she was introducing a comedian. "Now, tell me, as your delightful sister wouldn't elaborate, what trouble have you to gotten into this time?" Tsubaki asked.

"No, no, no, Tsubaki. Our question first. How did you know when to call Zuki?" Kyara said.
"Astral Telepathy." She replied," Now, it's only fair, answer my question."

"Betrothals, to some assholes." Kyara said. "Mizuki, go cook me up something to eat, while I have a little chat with your sister. You know, older sibling to older sibling. Off you pop."

"Come on Subaru." Mizuki said, getting up. Mizuki left with Subaru. "Tsubaki had twelve younger  siblings." Kyara explained to Shu.

"By your posture, I can tell that, you and  Shu are dating darling Kyara?" Tsubaki said.
"Leave him alone." Kyara replied.
"Tell me, these assholes, who are they?" Tsubaki asked, conjuring tea out of nowhere.

"The half breed vampires called the Mukami brothers." Shu growled. "Yeah, me and Mizuki are betrothed to Yuma and Kou." Kyara added.

Tsubaki laughed. "Well, I haven't seen a problem this dangerous since Hitler decided that starting World War 2 was a good idea."
"Tsubaki has been around for millennium." Kyara said, looking at Shu's face.

It was obvious, that this girl was not a vampire or a demon, so it confused Shu as to why she talked about Hitler with such disgust that could only be possible from someone had lived through the war.

"Well, Kyara, what do you want me to do about it?" She asked, eyes twinkling. "I don't want your help and neither does Mizuki. You can't keep doing this, Tsubaki!  Popping in and out of our lives like this!"

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Mizuki was complaining. "She just needs to get back to real life. You know, she needs to be grounded on Earth. Well I guess, for someone like her being grounded to Earth is hard."

Subaru, who was lost the moment Mizuki started talking, decided that if he didn't start talking, Mizuki would continue confusing him. "Why are you making her food, then?"

"Despite her many reasons why Kyara and I should have her as our legal guardian, she's - deep down and I mean really deep down - a good person." Mizuki replied, pulling the cake out the oven.

"Come on then." Mizuki said. Subaru stopped her. He brushed a piece of flour off her cheek and kissed her. "Alright, big guy, enough kissing."

"Fine! We'll take your help!" Kyara shouted as Mizuki and Subaru came in. "Perfect. Oh! Mizuki, what a lovely cake. You know, you two, you should really consider allowing me - your godmother - to become your official legal guardian."

Mizuki, passing out pieces of cake, gave Subaru a what did I tell you look and smirked. "You see, this time Tougo," Shu and Subaru saw her eyes go murderous when she mentioned their father -," has had the for sight to place a control thing on the two of you."

She took a bite of cake and looked at everyone in turn. "It can only be broken when it is at its weakest. That is, when it stops being cast by Tougo and by your new husbands. That would be-"

"When we get married." Mizuki finished. "Look at you, when did you find out about control magic?" Tsubaki asked, her eyes shining like a teacher watching their star student.

"Unlike Kyara, I don't enjoy doing nothing." Mizuki answered.
"Well, I shall see you two in five days." Tsubaki said, standing up.
"Where do you think your going?" Kyara asked.

"Well, first I'm going to get my nails done, then I'm going to get a dress and then I'm going to a club and finally I will return back her at around three in the morning. I will then do, around the same thing, until it's time to break this godforsaken charm and show Tougo I am the more responsible godparent."

Tsubaki walked out. "Was... was she always like that?" Subaru asked. Kyara and Mizuki smiled at each other. "Yep." They replied in sync.
