I went to my moms house so we could do Christmas shopping since I haven't seen her since the Kelci thing.

We went to a couple store downtown.

"Owwwe Kelci would love this!!"

She said picking up this bracelet that was sold gold.

"Ma!!"

"What Boy!?"

"Why you bringing her up ?"

"Because I still like her Mas, just because you running around town with these little nasty things doesn't mean I'm suppose to feel differently about her. She never disrespected me, never showed me anything not to like. "

She was right.

"I know ma but dang, everytime we talk you always ask about her. I'm still trying to get over that. "

"Okay I won't bring her up anymore.... to you."

10minutes later*

"Are you going to get her anything for Christmas baby?" she said looking through sweaters

"Well what if it's awkward or she does t except it?"

"You said that y'all were establishing a friendship ..... It's a friendly gift. better yet just say it's from the family and let me wrap it."

"Okay what should I get her?"

"Everything you like." I laughed

"See that's why me and her got along. she's just like your mama and that's what you need."

"What about shoes?"

"Nooo that's to basic."

"we'll figure something out. nothing in here. This stuff looks kinda cheap"

She said making a nasty face at the cashier.

After we left there we headed to the mall and I didn't feel like going in all the stores so I just held my moms bags and waited on her.

"Did you figure out what you wanna get Kelci?"

"Nawww."

"Give me your card."

"Why" I said getting out my wallet

"Cause ima just go buy it."

"No ma I want it to be something I pick out."

"Okay well what have you been thinking about."

"I wanna get her a ring."

I just said what was on my mind.

"A ring? what kinda ring Mason?"

"I don't a promise ring, engagement ring I don't know."

"You wanna purpose to her Quanny?" her face lit up.

"I mean I've always wanted her to be my wife one day but I'm just hesitant of asking now considering we're not even together."

"I understand. well let's still go pick out something and you can still get her something else for Christmas."
