Damon's P.O.V.
I woke up to the sound of pots and pans clattering and clanking on the kitchen floor and counter top. I search for my phone to see that it's 3:14 in the morning. I roll over and attempt to get out of bed without tripping over anything.
I reach the staircase balcony.
"Stefan! Go... back to bed it is now... 3:27 am. Do you... know what that means?" I mummble, waiting for an answer. As planned, there wasn't one. "I'll give you a hint, this means it is time to sleep and be silent unless, you'd rather me go on a killing spree!" I hear shuffling and turn to see Stefan right behind me, still in a partial slumber. But, the racket in the kitchen continues.
"What did I do this time. And by 'what did I do' I mean what did you do that you're going to blame me for?" he asks rubbing his eyes. I look at him then the way to the kitchen. The words 'Can it wait till tomorrow' in my head. Then realizing that if I get whatever it is done now I can sleep in tomorrow. I turn to Stefan and put a hand on his shoulder. "Alright, come on sleeping beauty." I say turning him around and following him down the stairs towards the kitchen.
He growns and stumbles to get the hall lights. I grab a chair and break off two stakes and toss one to Stefan who barely catches it.
I signal him to move closer to the sound and he nods stopping at the door frame as he watches the figure move around the kitchen. He hits the lights and we charge towards the figure only to have tackled each other. We hear a familiar sounding laugh as we look at who we tried to charge at, only to leave us speechless before Stefan and I recognize the intruder.
"Dylin?" I mumble. Not fully understanding how this could possibly be.
"Havn't seen you guys since 1864." she smiles and Stefan and I are still stunned. "How are my two favorite brothers?"
