chapter 20: The Mystic Grill Date

Skylar's P.O.V.

When I went to go check on Dylin no one warned me that Jeremy was over so when I walked in on them kissing I was equally surprused that Damon hadn't killed Jeremy and excited that they were finally together. I close my eyes and slam my hand to my face covering my eyes.

"I probably wasn't supposed to see that." I say but I thought I said it in my head. they both spring away from each other and Dylin looks at me.

"hey Skylar how you been?" Dylin says but I was to thrilled to here her finally speak I ignore her question and sprint over to her as I give her a huge hug. I pull myself away from her and smile big as I get off her bed.

"ok to celebrate Dylin finally speaking again I say we go to the grill and continue our plans from Tuesday. which means Jeremy can you call Jesse?" I ask trying to not blush as his name flows from my lips. Dylin gives me a wicked grin.

"yeah sure celebrate me or maybe you meant celebrate Jesse." she says laughing. I give her my famous 'shut up' look and turn to what down stairs.

"uh Sky." I hear Dylin's voice behind me and turn towards her.

"Ugh what?" I ask annoyed. she laughs again.

"you should probably change out of your pajamas first smart one." she says continuing to laugh at me. I look down at my pink pajamas and bunny slippers.

"uh haha right." I say walking over to my dresser. I look at Jeremy.

"uh Jer you mind." I ask looking at him. he sighs.

"fine I'll wait down stairs." he says hanging his head as he walks out of the room and closing the door behind him. we laugh and start to get dressed. I grab my skater skirt, one direction crop top, and hot pink converse. I turn to see Dylin wearing one of my old short red dresses and a pair of new converse. I give her the look.

"really? my dress?" I say looking at her. she laughs and twirls. I roll my eyes and smile.

"let's go." she says her eyes wide. we walk down stairs to see Jeremy talking to Damon and Stefan and when Jeremy turns all he can say is.

"woah." he says his jaw dropping. Damon looks at him.

"hey Gilbert eyes off my little sister before I break that jaw." he says looking at us. Dylin and Jeremy smile and we laugh.

"ok let's go hey uh you guys mind giving us a ride to the grill?" I ask as Dylin and I give our pouty baby looks.

"uh Damon their doing it again." Stefan says trying to look away. Damon sighs.

"fine just stop with the faces." he says as we laugh and run to the car. when we get there Jeremy hops in the way back and Dylin and I get in the the second row of seats.

"Stef can you turn the radio on please." Dylin ask looking at him through the mirror. he smiles.

"sure. why not." he says turning it on. it was a big mistake. Dylin and I gasp and look at each other before screaming at the top of our lungs.

"SAY SOMETHING IM GIVING UP ON YOU! AND I'LL BE THE ONE IF YOU WANT ME TO!ANYWHERE I WOULDVE FOLLOWED YOU! SAY SOMETHING IM GIVING UP ON YOU!" Jeremy, Stefan, Damon, Dylin and I just bust out laughing then the next song came on and it got ten times worse.

"YOU'RE INSECURE DONT KNOW WHAT FOR YOU'RE TURNING HEADS WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THE DO-OO-OR! DONT NEED MAKE UP TO COVER UP BEING THE WAY THAT YOU ARE IS ENO-OO-UGH! EVERYONE ELSE IN THE ROOM CAN SEE IT EVERYONE ELSE BUT YO-OU BABY YOU LIGHT UP MY WORLD LIKE NO BODY ELSE THE WAY THAT YOU FLIP YOUR HAIR GETS ME OVERWELMED AND WHEN YIU SMILE AT THE GROUND IT AINT HARD TO TELL YOU DONT KNO-OO-OW YOU DONT KNOW BEATIFUL OO-OH THATS WHAT MAKE YOU BEAU-" we stop when Damon turns the radio off and we realize we're at the grill.

"Damon you couldn't let us finish that song?" Dylin asks looking at him through the mirror. he looks back at her.

"Sorry Dyl but thats just abiut eniugh of R5 I can take for one day." he gives his signature smirk and looks away.

"uh Damon that was one direction." Dylin says laughing. Damon shrugs.

"is there a difference?" he asked. I gasp.

"uh oh." I hear Dylin say.

"did you really just ask that?" I ask looking at him dead serious. Dylin puts her hand to her head then flings it away when she says.

"you just had to say it didn't you Dame." he shrugs again.

"sorry?" he says but it sounds more like a question. I glare at him then get out of the car the rest of them follow as Dylin and I lead the way. we see Jesse was already there. I smile big as we walk over to him.

"uh hey Jesse." I say as everyone else gives a slight wave. I look at Stefan and Damon.

"oh yeah uh Jesse these are my brothers Stefan and Damon and then you already kniw my sister Dylin and obviously Jer." I say. they wave again. he guestures for us to sit down so we do. Stefan and Damon leave and we noticed that Caroline and Elena were here.

"uh Jer we should go get some drinks." Dylin says gesturing with her head and eyes that they should give us some alone time. he nod and they get up.

"so subtle guys." I think know that they can both hear it. I look at Jesse and smile.

"so tell me about yourself." I say to eagerly. he looks at me.

"well I have a younger sister her name is Christasia but everyone calls her Christy. I love modern music but you can never go wrong with classics. and I love to draw." he says. I smile at the thought of my new possible boyfriend.

"well maybe you can draw something for me sometime." I say noticing that we got really close really fast. he looks deep into my eyes.

"maybe I will." he says his voice sounding raspy from the hushed tone and with that he kissed me a slow and everlasting kiss that felt like it could last forever and when it ends I can't help but feel a little sad. he smiles at me and smile back. When Dylin and Jermey got back I decided that I would just tell Dylin when we get home. I mean why bother kiss and tell right now, right? I look at Jesse then my currently small group of friends. Ever since everything that happened with Haven I never thought that I would laugh that much or have that much fun ever again but this time im glade I was wrong.
