wooseok was staring blankly at the white ceiling of the room he shared with his friend hyunggu, feeling completely bored and at a loss of ideas to kill his boredom. he was cut off of his deep thinking when hyunggu suddenly barged into the room.
"hey wooseokie, why are you so quiet? it's quite unusual for you to be this quiet." wooseok was still keeping his sharp gaze at the ceiling as if hyunggu's sudden entrance didn't even affect him at all.
"nothing i'm just bored." wooseok bluntly said before shifting his gaze from the ceiling to finally face his friend.
"then how about we go to the carnival? i'm sure you'll have fun there." hyunggu suggested when wooseok only rolled his eyes at his suggestion. he surely wasn't the type to like carnivals and thought they're childish.
"no." wooseok simply said. nothing would make him change his mind as he was too stubborn.
"but come on wooseokie~ it's gonna be fun i promise." hyunggu whined and flashed him his infamous puppy eyes and pout, hoping that would make wooseok change his mind about not going.
"ugh fine. but if i don't have fun you'll have to pay me 50$." wooseok eventually gave up and agreed to go. hyunggu made a mini victory dance when wooseok rolled his eyes at how childish his friend was. one thing that could ever make wooseok change his mind was hyunggu's constant whining and his puppy eyes.
wooseok didn't take longer than 3 minutes to get ready as he pulled out a random black hoodie, a gray sweatpants and a black and white sneakers. once both of them were ready they set off to the carnival.
once they reached the carnival hyunggu suddenly turned into a 6-year-old child who had been to the carnival for the first time as he was beaming brightly and nagging wooseok to try every single ride in the park and wooseok was feeling embarrassed to be seen with him.
after trying out so many rides hyunggu stopped at a cotton candy shop nearby. "hey wooseokie i want you to buy me cotton candy~" he cutely asked. wooseok knew he would whine about it forever so he silently walked with him there. once they reached the shop they were greeted by a young boy who seemed to be around their age and he was only a few inches shorter than wooseok. wooseok couldn't help but think that the boy was extremely handsome, his looks were cold yet attractive and that's what caught wooseok's attention the most. however, he wasn't the type to believe in love at first sight and stuff but as cliché as it seemed he was definitely in love with that guy.
"hello, what can i help you with?" the guy gently asked and flashed them a small smile as he was ready to offer his services.
"one cotton candy please and oh can you make it heart shaped?" hyunggu said as the guy immediately started working on the order. a few seconds later he gave the order to wooseok since he was standing closer to the guy. he took a good look at his name tag that read 'adachi yuto'.
"uh thanks, adachi yuto." wooseok politely thanked him as he gave the candy to his friend before paying for the cotton candy and walking away.
wooseok and hyunggu sat down on one of the benches so hyunggu could eat his cotton candy. but wooseok couldn't think of anything at that moment except how to come up with some excuse to see yuto again when he suddenly found something.
"hey hyunggu i'm gonna go buy myself a cotton candy heart as well, i'll be right back." wooseok said as the latter nodded, not even looking at him. he was definitely enjoying the cotton candy. he got up from his seat and headed for the cotton candy shop once again. luckily he was seated quite close to the shop so he didn't have to walk for long.
"oh you're the guy who came here with his friend a while ago if i'm not mistaken. i suppose you came here for cotton candy, right?" yuto asked as wooseok simply nodded his head. he was actually quite surprised that he actually remembered him. he then carefully watched yuto's hands move gracefully and shaping the cotton candy into a heart like the one hyunggu had. a few seconds later yuto handed over the candy to wooseok when their hands slightly touched for a split second but wooseok could already feel the butterflies and his heart getting warmer because of that little gesture.
"t-thank you." wooseok's voice was rather trembling as he felt his face getting red which was too obvious to hide and gave him the money and yuto smiled at him before leaving.
with many thoughts running back and forth through his mind, wooseok came back and sat down next to his friend as he unwrapped the cotton candy and threw the plastic wrap away when he noticed a small paper next to his feet. he picked it up and read what it said.
you looked cute when you blushed, also your face reminds me of cotton candy. oh and here's my number ;) x-xxx-xxx -yuto.
wooseok's heart was beating rapidly and only kept staring at the note yuto gave him and he was actually smiling for the first time in a while. he couldn't believe that he loved a stranger so much and as much as he hated coming to the carnival in the first place but he was currently thankful for coming because he met yuto in the process and that's when he realized that this would definitely be the start of a blossoming relationship.
