---------------------------------------------Waking up, I felt like something was off. As if the air around me was just... wrong.
I know that I had a hospital visit not too long ago, but I couldn't help but think about what happened before I had woken up.
A voice was talking to me, wasn't it...? What was the voice? It sounded so familiar, yet was so lost and distant, like I had known them once, but forgot about them...
I shook away my drowsiness carefully and very carefully moved Asra off my lap. He was quiet, sleeping softly all curled up into a ball. I glanced at where Lili was sitting last night, before I passed out. She wasn't there anymore, so she must've gone back to her room to go to bed.
Checking my phone, I could see the time read '6:50,' so it was still early. VERY early. I didn't want to wake up either Lili, OR Asra, as that would be rude.
Nobody likes waking up early...
But since I was up, I might as well start the day. I was one of those people who would be up, as soon as they wake up. I've never been the one who can go back to sleep.
When I went to friend's houses, if I were wake up at 2AM, I'd be awake then. I'd probably just go on my phone till they would wake up, just so they could get their sleep.
I made myself a breakfast- making more for when Asra woke up, got ready, left a note and then I left out the door for school. I couldn't afford to skip at this point and plus, I still had A LOT to catch up on.
Asra by now, knew how to keep himself occupied and content while I was at school. I don't know what he did, but he definitely lost interest in the games on my phone by now. Sadly.
The walk to school was simple as always, only about ten minutes until the school itself came into view. I thought it was going to just be another boring day- other than the fact that I fainted midway through class, but suddenly, my thoughts changed.
I hadn't been looking where I was going, when I tripped. There was an uneven part of the sidewalk, where the top part of my shoe had hit and twisted, sending me plunging face-first into the cold sidewalk.
Everything turned black for a moment, as I squeezed my eyes tightly shut. I felt impact, I heard the noise of my backpack opening and my binders and papers falling out. I could hear the sound of my phone crashing against the pavement. Lastly, I felt the cold chill of the cold cement against my body, against small scrapes that had just appeared from the impact.
I groaned, opening my eyes. Yup, definitely fell no doubt. I felt a small faint throb in my knees, which I tried my best to ignore as I checked them, rolling up my pant legs for a moment.
A little skin was torn on both knees, though the right one looked a bit more bad, as I fell onto my right side out of instinct. A little bit of blood was drawing, but it was only a scratch, it would heal in no time.
I stood up, wincing the tiniest bit when the same faint throbbing pain came from my right elbow as well. But that was also ignorable, which is exactly what I did. I picked up my bag, collecting my papers in an unorganized pile and just shoving them back where they came from.
I didn't have time to sort through them, I still had to get to school, push through the heavy crowds and then get to class. I went to grab a binder- which had a scratched corner on it now from the fall, but a hand beat mine and grabbed it first.
I was about to scold them and tell them it was mine before they took it from me, but when I looked up, all I could see was a gentle smile, with matching soft jade green eyes that were looking at me.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Are you alright? You looked like you fell pretty hard." Said the boy that was standing in front of me, offering my binder back to me, which I took thankfully. That was surprisingly, no embarrassment this early in the morning.
What a surprise... He'll do it any minute, just be prepared for it and it might not sting as badly!
I tucked the binder back into my bag of unorganized, messy papers and two other small binders. I looked down, avoiding eye-contact. "I'm uh, sorry for bothering you." I quickly rushed to apologize, but he raised a hand to silence me, still showing that soft smile that refused to break from his face.
He chuckled softly. "Don't be. What's your name?" I guess that's surprising too, wouldn't everyone by now, know my name? I might as well be on the news as well... Since I'm so well known now...
"Zachary..." I mumbled, throwing my bag over my shoulder again, still watching him cautiously. Sure, he looked nice and all, but that girl in class also looked nice and pretty, and look what happened there!
"That's a pretty cool name. I'm Jake, but I guess you can just call me by my nickname, Jay." Jay said, smile growing a bit wider.
"Oh, I don't think I've seen you around here... Are you new?" I felt like of stupid asking that. If he wasn't knew, I just made an idiot out of myself. Why the fuck would I know every single face who goes to my school? I don't, that's the answer.
He laughed and nodded, to my relief. "Yes, I am. Mind showing me around? Or are you in a rush?" He asked, making me look down at my phone- luckily not damaged from being dropped.
I still had about half an hour...
"Um, I got a bit of time, so sure." I replied, and then we went off, me showing him around and getting to know him bit by bit.
Maybe this will actually turn into some sort of friendship...
That would be nice... I don't have friends anymore...
For the rest of the day, we spent it together. I actually smiled at school, for once. I found out a lot about him as well! He doesn't like spicy foods, he likes cold food, he's from Russia, all that stuff.
I also found out that he was bisexual! That was a surprise. It was kind of awkward when I found that out though, because he seemed completely fine with just blurting it out loud with everyone around us, hearing him.
So at that point, I just decided to give in and admit I was gay. Pretty sure I am... I don't really look at girls the same way anymore, besides, I have a boyfriend now. Asra.
After the day was over and school had ended, we said our goodbyes and then parted our ways. What was really cool was the fact that Jay lived only around the block! And that he moved in about a week ago!
Woah...
I didn't think you could find that much stuff out about one person in one day. And on top of all of that, become FRIENDS with them!!
Stepping through the door to my house and kicking off my shoes, I was greeted by Asra, which made me smile softly.
I... Think things are finally getting better now!
My sister isn't being mean to me anymore, I wasn't bullied at all today, I have Asra as my lovable boyfriend and I made a really awesome friend!
I couldn't be more lucky, right?
