••• chapter thirteen •••

I ran home. It's started raining. As if the world was laughing at my misery. It's funny because the heat was beaming intensely just a few minutes ago. But I didn't care about the water.

I didn't care of absolutely anything. Once I arrived, I noticed Winona's car. But I honestly didn't give any fucks I just ran in there.

Winona was in the living room. She quickly looked towards where I was. She looked shocked and confused but mostly worried.

"Millie...what-"

I interrupted her and just ran up to her and hugged her. And I lost control.

Tears were falling down my face and loud sobs were coming out of my mouth.

"Millie what happend?"

I had gasps that were hitched which made it difficult to talk but I somehow managed to speak up.

"Winona, I-"

My courage to talk was interrupted by a knock on the door.

Winona noticed that I was slightly startled by the knock.

"It's okay whoever it is I'll just tell them to go away." Winona said.

I nodded.

She walked up to the door. I just listened.

"Hello right now is not a good time." Winona said to the person standing outside.

"Uh hi I'm sorry but is Millie here?" Said the other voice.

A voice I recognized. A voice that I dreaded to hear. I quickly hid in the stair steps.

Winona looked at me as if she was asking if it was okay to let him in.

I shook my head for a no. She looked back at him.

"Your Davids charge right?" Winona asked.

"Yeah I'm Finn sorry I didn't introduce myself." He said.

"Well Finn it's nice to meet you but right now she's asleep, she wasn't feeling well." Winona lied.

What did I do to deserve her?

"Oh okay," he said with disappointment in his voice. "can you please tell her that I was here, and that I need to talk to her?" Finn asked.

"Of course." Winona said.

Winona shut the door.

"It's okay you can come out now." Winona said.

I sighed of relief and got out from where I was hiding.

"Thank you."  I simply said.

"Now what's going on?" She said grabbing a towel from a closet and giving it to me.

I find it really difficult to talk to about my life and about my problems. Every time something interrupts me when I try to talk, I take it as if the world doesn't want me to talk.

"Can I tell you later? I actually really am tired." I lied.

She looked at me for a moment.

"Millie you can talk to me, you know that right?"

I smiled.
