My first semester at college in a different country is almost over. There's only to more stressful weeks until classes are out, and I can go home to see how much damage that I caused before my dramatic leave. I've had little contact with my friends and I know that I hurt them with my sudden cutting off contact with them, but I hope that they realize now how I've been feeling for the past year being around them. Maybe now they'll understand my situation more.
I drag myself out of bed and into my small kitchen to make myself some breakfast. Unfortunately, I don't have much food left so I sigh knowing that I'm going to have to go grocery shopping today.
"Maddie. Good you're up, I was hoping that you would be." My roommate greeted me popping into the room.
"Moring Mira, you're up early." I comment scooping cold eggs onto a plate and putting it in the microwave to heat up.
"Yea, I promised the gang that we would go shopping today. Anyways, I found someone looking for you." I glance at her curiously.
"Who would be looking for me?"
"I don't know, some guy who says that he knows you." She moves out of the way and my mouth dropped when I saw who walks in.
"Tai? What are you doing here?" I cry out. He was the last person that I ever expected to come and visit me here.
"Hey Maddie, long time no see." He smiles giving me his signature smile.
"What are you doing here?" I ask again.
"School's out for the holidays back home so I thought that I would come visit you, see how you're doing." Mira was staring in Tai awe of his good looks.
"Don't you have somewhere to be Mira?" I ask harshly.
"Yea, right. It was nice meeting you Tai. We'll talk later Maddie." She replies automatically without looking away from Tai.
"It was nice meeting you, thank you." She closes the door behind her and Tai and I waited until we could no longer hear her footsteps before either of us began speaking again.
"Was that really necessary Maddie?" He asks sighing.
"What are you doing here Tai?" I ask angrily going back to reheating my food.
"I already told you, school's out for the holidays so I thought that I would come and visit you." He says again moving to sit at my small table.
"Does Sora know?" I ask.
"Nope." He says popping the 'p.'
"Why not?"
"Because she's dating Matt."
"Currently." I scoffed.
"Dam it Maddie. Stop being so difficult, I'm trying to work things out with you and you're not making it easy on me." He spits angrily. "I guess that I do deserve it though." He mumbles sadly.
I sigh sadly too. "We've been through this so many times already Tai, we'll talk it out and things are better for a little while but as soon as Sora comes back into the picture you'll go straight back to her like a dog with it's tail in between it's legs."
"Not this time Maddie."
"That's what you said last time and look what happened after your soccer game." I added another egg to the plate that was on the table and the bacon that I heated up. "Have something to eat. Do you want some orange juice?" I ask changing the subject momentarily.
