Chapter 16

The person started walking towards the gate. It was more than just one person. They came to the gate and said hey we know your in there we don't want to make anything worst so come on out. We stayed quiet. The man said oh is your going to play hard to get then huh. He asked his friend to bring the fence cutters to him. He started one by one breaking the gate. I didn't want the gate to be broken so I ran on over there. He looked at me and said oh goody good good the mouse decided to come out of hiding now we're are the rest of your friends. I told him that I was all alone. He said don't go feeding me lies young man I'm not fucking stupid. I said that I wasn't lying that all my group died. He said ok fine I'll play along with your game. He slowly started to chop at the gate again. I told him to stop or I will shoot him. He said that he has been following me for a long time. I said what do you mean. He said remember when you found bullet jokes in your old car. I said yes. He said I shot those bullets in there to warn you that I will be coming. He then said so I know you are lying about you being all by your self Zach. I asked how he knew my name. He said of course and idiot like you would question how I know your name I know it because I've been follow you guys for the past 2 months after I found my people who betrayed me. I said that we never did anything to you. Michael came out of hiding and said Clint oh hell no. Clint started to laugh and then said oh hey Michael good to see that your still breathing for now. Michael went to me and whispered this man is bad news we need to get out now. I whispered back to Michael that we are trapped in our own home there is no escaping. Clint went don't you be whispering to each other if you know what's best for you. He then looked at Michael and went tell him what you did to us tell him now. The rest of the group came out Jake looked at Michael and said no don't it's in the past now. Clint looked at us and said that his own friends death from you guys might be in the past but the revenge is in the present. He then said Michael if you don't say it I will shoot you right now. Michael started to shake then stutter. Michael said that he didn't want to kill any one he forced him to. Clint looked at him and aimed the gun at Michaels head all of his friends had there guns aimed at all of us so we couldn't do anything because we were out numbered. He then said now don't tell any lies or you and your friends will be killed in a instant. I then looked around for Cole. Cole was no where he seen. Michael began saying Zach you know how we told you and Jenny the first day we met that we haven't had good company since we left our camp. I said yes I remember. He said well I never really had good company I was worried Jake, Lacey and I wouldn't survive so we went looking for a camp to stay at because we were desperate. Michael continued well 2 weeks passed and it was terrible they didn't allow anyone that was over 40 or under 20 we had to lie about our ages. Any time someone who would come to the camp for help that was above the age of 40 they would act like they would take care of them they would bring them into the inspection room and all you would hear most of the time is a gun shot. Clint and his people abused my people to the point were we couldn't handle it no more. Michael said that him and Jake decided to make a plan to escape but Clint found out about it Michael had a gun and killed 4 of the men that were about to kill him for trying to escape and that's when Jake, Michael and Lacey escaped then another week later we ended up in a neighborhood called Bridgestone rd. Michael said that Jake Lacey and him Chosen the tiniest house there and well after a couple of days you came and now your all caught up on the story. Clint started clapping his hands saying Provo you didn't lie but you forgot to mention one tiny tiny detail that the 4 people you killed were my best friends. Jake started to scream they were going to kill Clint stopped before he could finish and he said speak when you are spoken to or I will kill you. Jake became quite. I told Clint that I wasn't apart of what happened and that he should let me and Jenny go. Clint said I would I mean I would love to but there's just one reason why I can't do that. I asked why and he said it's because you are friends with them and 3 people deserve to die just like my best friends did. He grabbed his fence cutter and broke open the lock pushed the gate open then walked in the building. He then said it's only fair that I kill Jake, Michael and Zach. Jenny said why only the guys I don't want to be here if there gone. Clint said don't worry I will take very good care of you I will take care of everything for you all your needs everything. That sent a chill down my spine. He looked at his friends that were holding guns behind him and said boys do you think it's finally time to kill this scum. They all started cheering and praising Clint like he was a god Clint made all 3 of us sit in a line. First Jake then me then Michael. He aimed the gun at Jake and then you heard a gun shot. I turned to see Jake still sitting on the ground waiting to be shot we looked over to see Cole waving for us to go over to we're he was we all ran over there to him. We got our guns and aimed it at them Clint decided to stand there in fear. He screamed I'm going to kill you for this aimed his gun and tried shooting me. I shot my gun to see Clint grab for his throat and bleed to death. It was my first time killing someone and even though it was for the right reason I hoped that it would of been my last. His group all tried running away Michael shot 2 and Jake shot 2 that was all of them. We left the bodies there for 2 hours because of disbelief that we survived that. Jake Michael and I went to take the bodies the the newer burn pile. While dragging one of the bodies it started to move. It made a noise and I threw it down. It got off the grounded and started to come at me trying to bite me. I said can we ever get a break I asked Michael for the knife and Michael threw it to me and I stabbed the zombie in the brain. Just to make sure I stabbed the rest of the bodies in the head. We then took them to the burn pile and went back inside. Jake said he didn't feel safe staying at the general store anymore. I said the only time we have had a threat was that man and when zombies come and that all we have to do is replace the lock on the gate. Jake said that he would rather move somewhere else. I told him he's crazy because it's almost winter it's in December and that we wouldn't make it out there. Jake said that he would rather try to make it out there than stay in this hell hole. Michael and Jake had a conversation for 2 hours in Jakes room. Michael came out of the room and said that he convinced Jake to stay i for another month and a half but as soon as February is here that he wants to leave. I told him that's still to early we should do it when the weather is finally warmer. Our jackets barely did us any good. For the next couple days we had to stay inside and use wood to make fire and stay in our blankets because it was getting way to cold to handle we started to run out of food and soon we would have to go and get more. It began to snow. We all gathered up as a group and sat around the fire. Jenny said that today was Christmas. We didn't celebrate or anything of course it was the saddest Christmas I've ever felt with. The next day we had to go and get more food. Cole took me to the car and we drove looking for any animals that we could see everyone else said they were to cold to leave the base. While driving around we found 2 rabbits next to each other Cole said I have left you get right we aimed our guns and shot the rabbits. I said looks like we're going to have some rabbit stew tonight. Cole said yep sounds good to me. We grabbed the rabbits and put them into a bag. We headed home. Cole and I was just sitting in the car relaxing when suddenly we saw someone walking on the street we couldn't tell if it was a zombie or a person either way we had our weapons out just in case. It was a girl but I couldn't see who it was in the distance she started to get closer to the car. Help we heard. Have you seen my mother we got separated after a hoard came through. I told her no and that we don't know what she looks like because it's foggy outside. I asked for her name she said her name was Bella. I told her that I had a sister named Bella that lived with her mom while I lived with my dad. She said that's weird because I have a brother that lived with his dad in another state. She got close enough to were we could finally see who it was.
