*Zack's POV*

It is 12:30. I have thirty minutes until my date with Lark. I can't wait. I haven't been on a date in so long. I need her address. I text her and get a reply just as fast. She lives close to Jack.

I search through my closet to find something. I think I will wear blue jeans and a plaid shirt. I hope thats okay. What will she think? Who am I kidding, I look great.

I start to make my way over to her house. I am starting to get nervous. My left leg is starting to move and my hands are clamy. I usually only get this nervous before a show, never in a date. Maybe its because i haven't been on a date in at least three years.

I pull up to a little blue house. I slowly walk up to her door. I knock twice. Seconds later Lark swings the door open. She is wearing a knee length sweater dress that has four holes in the right shoulder with converse. Her hair is in a messy bun. She looks beautiful in my opinion.

"Are you just going to keep staring at me or are we going on a date?" Lark laughs as she closes her door.

"Sorry, I just couldn't help it. You look great." I smile as I shift my weight onto my other foot.

"Thank you. You look great as well. Shall we get going?" Lark walks off her porch and I follow.

I jog in front of her to open the car door. She looks at the ground under her feet as she climbs into my car. Rain starts to spit down when I get into my side of the car. My phone buzzes when I start to drive.

"You can answer that. I don't mind. I'm guilty of doing it." Lark smiles then turns her head to watch the rain fall.

Alex: Have you picked her up yet?
Zack: Yes, I'm driving to the place now. Leave me alone.

I shove my phone back into my pocket and turn the radio on. I don't know what type of music she likes. A weird EDM song comes on. Lark reaches her hand out to change the station. She turns it to some classic rock station. Lark might have good taste in music.

"Is this station alright? Its your car." She looks down at ger hand and starts to play with the hem of her sweater dress.

"Yeah, this is fine. I don't really like EDM." I turn the volume up to an Aerosmith song.

Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Lark singing along. I smile as I hear bits and pieces. She isn't too bad. I pull into 3 Bean Coffee. I thought this would be a nice little place for a first date.

I open the door for her and offer my hand to help her out. Lark hesitantly takes my hand. Once she is out, we make a run across the street with the rain hitting us. I open the door again for her. She nods and walks inside.

My phone buzzes again. I look down to see Jack instead of Alex.

Jack: How is it?
Zack: We just got here. Let us be.
Jack: Okie dokie! Have fun!

I roll my eyes and follow Larken to a table next to the window. It has a nice view of the street and the rain hitting the glass have a calming noise to it.

"Nice spot." I smile at her and my left leg starts to move again.

"I liked the sound of the rain hitting the window." Lark smiles, but more to herself than to me.

"You're beautiful." I mumble to myself. Lark's eyes go wide. "Did I say that out louder than I meant to?"

"I think so. Thank you." She looks down at her hands with red creeping up onto her cheeks. She is adorable when she blushes.

The waitress walks over to take our order. I get a green tea while she gets a vanilla chai tea. I love talking to her. I never noticed how pretty her green eyes are. They have little hints of blue in them as well. Her hair is a perfect mocha color. In my eyes, she loiks perfect. What am I saying? Its only the first date. Am I crazy for thinking that on the first date?

*Larken's POV*

This date is going amazing. Well, Zack is amazing. He is really handsome. His brown eyes are beautiful with golden specks in them. I love his tattoos too. They are so pretty.

We talked for at least two hours. I went through four cups of chai tea. Zack only went through two cups of green tea. I was getting ready to pay but Zack put his hand over my wallet and shook his head.

"I have this. It was my idea to take you out in this date." He smiles while handing the waitress a five dollar bill before I could argue any farther.

"Then I will get the next one." I smile as I look down at my hands. He looked surprised at me.

"Does that mean we are going on another date?" Zack gets this huge grin on his face.

"Maybe." I chuckle and start to play with my sleeve again.

Zack stands up and I follow him out to his car. He opens the door again for me. He is such a gentleman. Zack couldn't be nicer. Hopefully things will work out.
