Interview-14: My Hijab Story, by LightAva01

My name is Khadija and I am a Muslim girl. My life was normal. As average as anyone else's, until I donned the hijab. The hijab is a scarf, we Muslims put on our head to show modesty and honor a women's natural beauty. I thought I would be the same when I put on the hijab. 

Boy, was I wrong. This is my story of the hijab and how I came to wear it.

1. {Selcouth questions} Were you always an avid reader or writer?

{IcyOrchid answers} Yeah, I've always loved to read and it inspired me to write.

  2. {Selcouth questions} How did you get the idea for your book-My Hijab Story?

{IcyOrchid answers}  I was given a prompt to write a story about my religion so I started writing My Hijab Story.

  3. {Selcouth questions} Is the theme or protagonist, of your book, related to you or your life? 

 {IcyOrchid answers} Well, the character is made up, but some of the memories that Khadija had with her grandmother were related to my family. 

  4. {Selcouth questions} Who inspires you to write? 

 {IcyOrchid answers} My mom, ZRCouer, IreneCallista07, my friends, and all the wattpaders who have voted and commented on my story.

  5. {Selcouth questions} In the near future, do you have plans to take your writing, to a new level? 

 {IcyOrchid answers} Well, if my writing can ever become good enough, I'll try too!

  6. {Selcouth questions} How does it feel, to be the winner of The Spice Awards? 

 {IcyOrchid answers} It feels incredible! I never thought my book would ever be capable of anything.! Thanks so much for telling me about the award!
