It was hard for Damien to admit to this, but he never felt this competitive. The neighbor, down the street. They live right across from him. (y/n), the cat lover. They own two cats. Damien did not own any dogs, due to Lucien's tragic allergy. Though Damien still loves his son, maybe he'll get a dog once his son moves out. When (y/n) first moved in, they made it very clear that they loved cats. Their phone case had a cute pattern on it. So just by starting at them, a person can tell.

(y/n) went outside, they were taking their trash out. They waved when they saw Damien looking through the window. (y/n) had a smile on their face. Damien waved back, he made a pleased face. (y/n) went back inside to tend to their cats. Which reminds Damien, ever since the new parent moved into town, Lucien gets along pretty well with (y/n)'a daughter. (y/n)'s daughter is named: Janice. Or as Janice likes to be called: Ice. Since Lucien isn't allergic to cats, he can go over whenever he wants.

This was clever, (y/n) winning over Lucien with their two cats. Lucien got to name the second cat. They recently got the cat when they moved in two days later, so they let him name him. Lucien had one name on his mind: Parade. It was a black cat, and Lucien often welcomes the cat into his life. Pretty cheeky of him but also extremely nerdy. Though as the days progressed, Damien and (y/n)'s rivalry got worse.

(y/n) recently just got a flower bed in her front yard. She tried to make as pleasant as possible. Damien loved her flower bed, and that made him jealous. Which is very unlike him. So what did the male do? He placed nice plotted plants at every single window. (y/n) scoffed at his antic, that bastard will never get away from it!

As Damien got more caught up with this foolish rivalry, Lucien got to sneak Parade home. Damien didn't know, until one day he heard scratching from Lucien's room. Lucien was at school, so what was this noise? So Damien took a look, he was greeted by (y/n)'s precious cat.

Damien groaned, he picked up the black feline. Parade hissed lightly, as he picked the car up. He marched up to (y/n)'a house. He knocked and (y/n) opened the door.

"Welcome back, Parade." (y/n) smiled.

Damien spoke, "My son stole your cat."

They laughed, "Again?!"

"What do you mean-" Damien was cut off.

"Wait, Lucien told me that you were chill with this." (y/n) answered as they placed Parade down.

"No, I never knew." Damien replied.

"At least, Ice told." They spoke once more.

Damien and (y/n) simultaneously agreed that both of their children are grounded.
