How Long Can You Keep Hiding

Naruto pov
I froze remembering what today was. I made them miss the festival and Menma's birthday party. I made Menma not be able to see his boyfriend. I made Jeane lose his eyesight! I made Temari get hurt. And I made Neji-sama and Panda-chan fight! Why do I mess things up so much?

"We can't stay here forever. They're gonna look here." Neji said irritated. "We can go to Menma's party. They probably already looked there." Zi said. Jeane smacked his arm. "You just wanna see Menma!" he said. "No think about it. They probably thought he would hide in the most populated place. So they would check there first." he explained rubbing his arm.

That makes sense. But I don't really want to go there. Neji nodded and picked up Jeane. Gaara helped his sister up. I stood by myself easily. I hope this works. "Shushin!" we said and poofted away. We appeared in my room. I heared lots of people laughing and singing downstairs. "Happy birthday Menma-kun!" Sakura yelled loudly. Everyone from class is here.

I glanced at Temari. "Something smells good. Zi go grab us something to eat." she commanded. "Right away your highness." he mocked. "Can I go down? There's someone I want to see." I said blushing. They raised their eyebrows at me. "Not that way!"I said quickly. "Sure come with me." Zi said holding out a hand. I took it and we walked out quietly.

I saw Menma talking with Sasuke and Kiba. He seemed a bit sad. I saw Zi smile slightly. They must really love each other. "Go to him I'll wait here." I said. "Wait but who did you want to see?" he asked. The people who matter the most to me. "My family." I said sitting on the step. He smiled and ruffled my hair before going down to Menma.

He wrapped his arms around him from behind. Menma quickly turned around and was shocked to find him. He smiled and hugged Zi with so much affection. I wish I had someone who loved me that way. Maybe one day I'll meet them. Maybe.

I sighed and closed my eyes for a bit. A shadow came over me and I heard evil giggling. I turned around to find. Sakura, Ino, and Ten Ten looming over me.

"Hey Sakura! Are you enjoying the party?" I asked meekly. "I was until you came!" she snarled. "I was here the whole time!" I said standing up slowly. "Well you won't be once I tell my mother that a demon like you came inside the hokage's home. How disrespectful!" she said sniffing the air. "I'm not a demon! Sakura please don't tell your mother. They'll hurt me!" I pleaded. She turned her head away. I glanced at Ino and she shifted her eyes away. I looked at Ten Ten and she stated deep into my eyes. "I hate weak people." she said. I bowed my head and nodded. "I understand. But if I leave will you still tell your-"

"Mother! The demon is in here! The demon is in here!" she screeched sticking her head out the window. Everything was quiet. Everyone turned towards me. "Get him!" they yelled. I bolted upstairs Zi right at my heels. "Shit sorry Naruto." he muttured. We locked the door and the others sighed. "Where to now?" Jeane asked. "The forest." Zi said and we poofted away. This is going to be a long night.

We landed in a pile. Jeane cried out in pain but bit back any futher noises to avoid getting caught. They're doing so much for me. "You guys stop. Jeane you're in pain you need rest. I don't want to see you guys getting hurt just for me!" I said backing away from them. "If they want me so bad they can get me. Honestly its not that bad. By tomorrow everyone will forgive me." I said smiling. Gaara pushed Neji and Temari off of him and grabbed my arm. "No! You aren't getting away that easy. You don't deserve to be tortured by the village." he said breathing heavily. I looked at the others and they nodded.

"Its not that bad. Plus I'm starting to see again. I see blurry lines and orange. I'm guessing the orange is you Naruto" Jeane said assuringly. "But the real question is where are we going to stay? We need a place to hide......again." he said looking around. Temari sighed and rubbed her stomach. "Foood!" she whinned.

Zi chuckled nervously at that. "Sorry I got distracted." he admitted. Gaara rolled his eyes and sat down tiredly. "Does the Hokage like you?" he asked. "Oh you mean the old one? The old man?" I asked excitedly. He nodded and I smiled proudly. "Of course. He's my grandpa." I said. "Then what are we waiting for?" Neji asked and we poofted away.

The Old Man immediately let me and the others in. He sat us down in the living room and gave us food and drinks.

"I see you made friends Naruto" he said smiling. "Yea. That's Gaara and Temari they're siblings,that's Neji Gaara's boyfriend, that's Zi and Jeane they're friends from Iwa. Zi's Menma's boyfriend. And that is Rock Lee the prodigy" I said excitedly. He just laughed and ruffled my hair lovingly. "He is not my boyfriend!" Gaara growled just loud enough for us  to hear. "Really?What! When did guys break up?Since when?" Lee asked confused. Neji groaned and slumped in his seat. "We can barely tolerate each other." he said.

Could've fooled me. "Anyway. You all look tired. Before you go to bed though. I have a surpise!" Hokage-sama said. He led us to his backyard. It was lit up and birthday decor was all over the place. On a table there was a huuuge cake and tons of presents. Was this all for me? No stop being stupid and selfish Naruto. It could be anyone's birthday today. "Happy birthday Naruto!" they all cheered.

I gasped and turned around to face them. "You did this for me? Why?" I asked. "We're family its what we do." Hokage-sama said. Tears welled up in my eyes but they didn't fall. "Thank you." I whispered and set to open up my gifts.
