Mission

Lee pov
I stood tall and erect in the Hokage's office. He was assinging our first mission today and I am determined to show my strength and power of youth! Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura, and Menma slouched tiredly. It was only 3 in the morning. The time I usually get up.

"Sorry to call on such short notice but this is an urgent mission I am trusting you with." Hokage-sama said blowing his pipe.

I leaned in excited. Hokage-sama blessed me with such honor. I will show him my ultimate power of youth. I will make the village proud of me! I will protect my friends!

"I need you to take this scroll to the Sercet Village of Machi." he said quietly. My eyes widened. He brought us here for a child's tale!

Sasuke pov
I looked at Naruto the whole time. He's changed. Something inside of him has awoken. He's calmer and more serious.

It makes him slightly more attractive in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I don't like Naruto! I just have been noticing a few things about him lately.

"Sasuke?" he whispered not looking at me. "Meet me at the abandoned classroom after the old geezer dismisses us." he continued. I nodded slightly before turning back to Hokage-sama who was explaining this so called important mission.

"Kakashi will be accompanying you of course." Gah that stupid lazy sensei. I sighed inwardly and stared out the window. I should be training right now. Oh doing something productive.

"Sasuke pay attention to Hokage-sama" Naruto whispered sweetly. He had such a charming soft voice and I immediately complied.

"Now the mission is extremely important. So I'm putting my full trust in you. Deliver this to the princess and do not come back until she gives you a reply." he said handing Lee the scroll. "Hokage-sama! The village of Machi is nothing but a child's tale! It doesn't exist!" Lee said.

"Are you suggesting that I'm lying? I have you the map you will follow it and do not question me." Hokage-sama said seriously. He's not being cheerful or nice geez this must be important.

"Hai" I muttered and walked out before he dismissed us.

"What did you want Naruto?" I asked leaning against the wall. Naruto stood in front of me fidgeting. "Well it's mostly about what you want. You were staring at me basically the whole time when before you would never spare me a glance. I just want to know where we stand." he said nervously. "Oh" I cleared my throat and looked away. "Sorry for staring. You just seem different. I guess I just was worried. I know we were never friend or anything and I don't plan on becoming friends anytime soon but if we could just be teammates that......that would be cool."

He blinked slowly then nodded. "Okay Sasuke" he said and I shivered. The way my name just rolled off his tongue was amazing and.....what the hell!

I shook my head and walked away. I should just go prepare for the mission.
