Chapter 5

ALEX'S POV:
It was 5 a.m and I decided to get dressed. I put on a sports bra with a hoodie over it, some gym leggings, and my running shoes. I put my hair up in a messy pony tail. I went downstairs to make myself a quick breakfast. I texted Ethan to tell him that I was ready.
Me: good morning 🌞
Ethan: good morning :) are you ready for our hike?
Me: yup.
Ethan: be there in 5!
I grabbed my phone, and keys and walked out the door to Ethan's car.

ETHANS POV:
"So I'm guessing you're choosing the radio station?" I asked
"Actually do you have an aux cord? It's 5 a.m and it is not the time to listen to upbeat sounds. More like chill vibes you know?" She said while laughing and grabbing the aux cord I had handed to her. She started playing the 1975. One of gray's and I favorite band. She rolled the window down and the wind began hitting her as somebody else started playing. At this moment, I knew I wanted her. I just couldn't tell her yet. I don't want to ruin what we have.
(Skip the car ride)
After an hour of hiking, we made it to the top. The cold breeze was hitting our faces letting us cool down.
"Wow. It's beautiful. The sun rise. Earth it's self. I love it." as she smiled and looked at the view.
"Yeah." I looked at her and only her. The view just couldn't beat her beautiful fresh smile.
"Oh WOW it's really cold! I thought the hoodie could help but it really didn't" she was shivering and smiling with her teeth. As her nose was bright red.
"Oh here take my jacket." I handed her my jacket and we sat down to watch the sun rise.
"Thanks for bringing me here eth." As she continued, "I never would've made myself wake up at 5 a.m to see a sun rise. But thanks to you, I would give up anything to be able to see this view."
"Me too." I mumbled as I looked into her eyes.

ALEX'S POV:
I noticed Ethan gazing his eyes at me. He looked at me, my eyes, my lips. I knew what he wanted to do. But I couldn't let it happen. Not yet.
"Well the sun rose so we should probably get going. My moms probably worried and I have no reception up here." I noticed Ethan's smile form into a frown.
"It was fun while it lasted." I said smiling at him to let him know that I truly appreciated everything.
"Hey do you still want that pizza and movie tonight?" He asked
"Actually, can we do a rain check? I remembered that I have homework to do and I have to get it done. Sorry."
"No it's okay I get it!" We made our way down and into the car.
We got home and made our separate ways.
"I'll see you tomorrow Alex!" Ethan yelled from across the street.
"SEE YOU E!"
(At night)
I went into the shower and got comfy enough to be able to do my homework. I turned off my lights and plugged in my Christmas lights that I keep on my wall year round. I played my favorite playlist on Spotify, and turned on a couple of candles. I took out my homework and there was a knock on the door. I opened it and saw Grayson with a backpack.
"Hey Alex!" He walked in and went upstairs.
"Uhhh hey Grayson... what are you doing here?" I tried asking in the nicest way possible.
"Ethan told me you were doing homework and well I needed the help and so...now I'm here?"
"Well the beds taken so your just gonna have to sit on the floor haha."
"Woah Alex did you know I was coming? Hahaha did you really set up candles?" He was laughing and I had understood what he meant.
"No stupid, it's relaxing and I stress out less while doing the homework."
"I was kidding!" He got up and sat on my bed.
"You're really great Alex. Do you know that?" I blushed and looked down trying to do the work.
"No Alex," he lifted my chin up and we were face to face. We were about to kiss.
"I-I can't do this Grayson. I'm sorry."
"Why not? I really like you Alex."
"I'm sorry but hanging out with Ethan these few days made me realize something and I think I-" he interrupted and finished my sentence.
"You think you like him. I get it, sorry it was a mistake I should probably go."
"No Grayson wait look-"
"No Alex it's fine! It's fine to like a guy that doesn't like you back. It's reality!"
"What do you mean?" I was confused. Does he mean Ethan? Does Ethan not like me?
"Nothing forget it. You'll figure it out your self, I'll see you tomorrow." I could tell he was clenching his jaw while grabbing his stuff and walking out the door. I don't know what Just happened.
