(The original ending in this book isn't what I initially intended for the story to end, but I choose to end the story this way to have it be an uplifting ending. This reason I decided to add this alternative ending was to give you the reader the choice of what ending you like best, but to also make the story fully completed. This picks up in the chapter called "When I'm Gone Who Would Care?" Towards the end of the story where Jack is in his chair with the razor in his hand. A lot may sound familiar, but please bare with me for I have to build it up to the alternate ending.)
He had been saving up a lot of money that he got for lunch and from his part-time job for several years already to go to Ireland. He originally just wanted to visit Ireland, but given all that has happened he decided he wanted to start a new life, and maybe he would meet someone their who could help him. The next few days Jack began to secretly pack items he needed to start his new life, and what he wanted to take that was important to him since he would not be coming back. That weekend he told his parents he was heading over to his friends house and would be back home late if not tomorrow. They believed Jack, but what they didn't know was the car was packed with his things along with the plane ticket to Ireland. He got to the airport and checked in all his bags and made his way through the security heading towards the plane. When he got there finally he didn't even hesitate to get on board to leave all this behind to start his new life. After flying for 14 hours to get to Ireland he had finally made it there and could not believe how beautiful everything looked to him, and could not wait to begin his new life.
In a very short time there in Ireland Jack had meet a girl named Abigal. Who right away would become someone who turned out to care about Jack more than enough than anyone ever has to save his life from himself that no one was ever able to do; and would be the closest best friend Jack ever had. As Jack was there beginning to start his new life and time progressed everything slowly started to become hazy. At first Abigal and Jack thought maybe it was just jet lag from the flight over there, but it started to become worse and worse. Soon Jack wasn't able to see things clearly and in a couple of hours he just collapsed onto the floor. Abigal started to panic and immediately began screaming for help because she didn't know what was wrong or what to do, and that was all Jack heard before going unconscious. When Jack gained consciousness it felt like days to him and where he woke up wasn't in a hospital or in Ireland for that matter; but instead he woke up back in his room in his chair. He became so confused as to what happened or what was real, but when he tried to move he didn't have the strength to get up. As he quickly looked around he noticed the razor wasn't in his hand anymore, but it was on the ground cover in a pool of blood. Jack was hesitant to look at his arm since he could not move it or feel nothing with his hand; but he had no choice to look to see what was wrong. When he looked and saw his wrist he had cut deeply in his wrist down his arm and had been bleeding out. All that time he thought he was in Ireland was just a dream his mind made up because he had fainted from the shock pain. As he sat their in his chair he slowly felt his life slipping away knowing their was nothing he could do to stop it now, and just watched as his blood kept pouring out of his body until everything turned black.
