You always knew you were different, but you didn't quite know how to categorize it. Abilities like yours were very rare, after all it's not every day you meet someone who can teleport. It started when you were very young, whenever you got scared, you would just curl up and blink out of existence, finding yourself tucked away under the safety of your covers at home. Your parents never seemed to notice, you always faded into the background compared to your other siblings. They were always so boisterous and confident, unlike you. The only girl of the family, the runt. Shy little _____, always running away from her problems. The only person who ever understood you was your best friend Erik. You both lived in a small little German town, your parents were friends and you two instantly clicked. While your parents talked, you and Erik would spend hours taking walks and talking about anything and everything. He was your everything. You sniffled, just thinking about Erik made you emotional. He was your first love, and he accepted you. You were alike, Erik showed you how when he focused hard enough, he could move the small ball bearings you would play with with nothing more than his mind. You were amazed, and showed him how you could change places like nothing, teleporting behind him and scaring him. You shared everything together, you bonded over your abilities, you even shared your first kiss. You were sitting under the old oak tree in Erik's yard, sharing a sandwich and chips. Just sitting and talking, like you always would. Suddenly, without warning, Erik leaned over and kissed you gently on the lips. You turned bright red, and your mutant ability decided to plop you into Erik's lap for added embarrassment. You both chuckled, and you wrapped your arms around Erik's neck. Blushing the brightest red.

It's been so many years since you've gotten to see him. You hadn't seen him since the invasion of Poland, when his family was taken away by the Nazis. You still remember the warmth of his hands when he gripped yours, guards beginning to separate herds of people into lines like dogs. He was screaming over the crowd, "Ich werde dich finden! Egal was!" Those were the last words you heard from him before he kissed you on the forehead and a guard roughly grabbed your arm and threw you into the left side of the line. You were shuffled along by the movement of the crowd, and kept looking back trying to keep your eyes on Erik's dark hair.

"ERIK!" You screamed, but no matter how hard you fought, you couldn't get back to him and he disappeared. Tears welled up in your eyes. The rest of those years were something you tried to block out, just be glad you survived it all and try to move on. But that moment, that image, was forever implanted in your head. The seriousness of his words, the emotion in his light eyes. You never did see him again after that moment, you sometimes wondered if he would ever fulfill his promise. Or if he was still alive. You missed Erik. Of course when you ended up running into him, you barely recognized him. You were at your favorite local pub, when two men entered, one shorter with softer features and another with a familiar face. Could it be? He was much more muscular, chiseled jaw, but those same piercing eyes. You waited, eyes locked on him as he approached a rough looking man and introduced himself.
"Excuse me, I'm Erik Lehnsherr." Your heart stopped, it really was him. Again those memories came flooding back to you, you were beyond happy to see Erik again. You were overwhelmed with joy, seeing him alive and well, and handsome as hell. You immediately sprang up as the two men began leaving and raced after them.

"Wait! Erik!" You shouted as you continued to scramble after them, your shorter legs not being able to catch up. Erik turned around, his eyes locking onto yours, after a moment of confusion realization flashed over his face and a smile pulled at the corner of his lips. While his childhood was full of hardship and tragedy, he could never forget your face, and the joy you brought him in his youth. "Ich habe dich gefunden." You whispered to him, grabbing his bicep once you got close to him.

Erik grinned, "Indeed you did mein Liebling, I'm glad to see you alive and well." He wrapped his toned arms around your small frame, and looked up "Charles if you'd please excuse us, me and ____ have a lot of catching up to do." Erik addressed Charles, who in turn looked at you.

Charles seemed quite surprised Erik was being so open and kind to this woman, he was normally so callous. He was perplexed, Charles took a moment to look through your conscious, feeling your intense emotions and those bits of memories with Erik. He smiled, "Of course, I'll meet you back at the base then." He patted Erik on the shoulder and was on his way.

Erik moved his arm to rest over your shoulder, "How about we grab a coffee and catch up?" He offered, looking down at your bright eyes and at the city around you. He couldn't believe, after all of these years, you were here in front of him. You nodded and started walking towards your favorite café. Erik continued, "I never thought I'd see you again ____. How have you been?" He asked you softly, looking down at your face with admiration, as if to take a mental picture of you.

You smiled up at him as you opened the door to the café. "I know, honestly I always thought you didn't make it out." You said, your smile dropping as bits of those awful memories you tried to push down bubbles to the surface, all those doctors, and tests, and the pain. You shivered slightly.

You looked at Erik as you both sat down at a table, his face also contorted. "I will have my revenge on Shaw and all of those who harmed us ____. Humanity will never be able to accept us for who we really are." He said, his eyes sharp and his expression cold as his hands clutched to fists.

Your brows furrowed as you laid your smaller hand over his fist, looking up at his determined expression. "Erik, not every human is like the ones that hurt us, but one day you will be able to get back at Shaw." You finished, feeling anger burning in the pit of your stomach as you imaged Erik being tortured the same way you were.

"He killed my mother." Erik said, his voice barely audible as his fist squeezed even tighter.

Your felt a pain in your chest, you had fond memories of Erik's mother, she was always so sweet and doted on you when your own mother was busy. She always cared deeply for you. "Oh Erik..." You said softly, reaching one hand out to brush the side of his face.

You took a moment to admire how much he had grown, close up. His jaw was razor sharp, with a bit of stubble tickling your fingertips, and those soft thin lips, but looking into his eyes was like looking into a time machine. They were always so expressive, you could always know exactly how Erik was feeling by looking into those big blue eyes. "You've grown so much." You whispered.

Erik looked back up at you, "We both have." Erik stated as he looked at your face, your gentle smile and plump lips, you had definitely filled out since your adolescent years. You were a perfect woman in his eyes. He felt his face get a bit hot, remembering how much he used to adore you and chase you, always wanting to be with you. You still had that same warmness, even after all of the hardship that made Erik feel cold and disconnected. Looking at your face made Erik feel like maybe he could open up again, just a little bit.

Erik slowly leaned forward, edging closer to you. You following suit and closing the distance between your faces. "You're still as beautiful as you were they day I met you ____." He whispered as he closed the gap between you and placed a gentle kiss on your lips.

Your body warmed, feeling his stubble on your face as you smiled into the kiss, you hadn't felt this way since you were younger. No one made you feel the way Erik did. You grabbed the back of his neck and drew him closer to you, and touching his soft hair.

Before things got too steamy you pulled away, a bit embarrassed considering you were in public. Erik smiled at you, "____, will you come with me and help me defeat Shaw? Me and Charles could use as much help as we can get." Erik said, his expression suddenly becoming serious as he stared at you.

You instantly nodded, your expression matching his, even though there was still color in your cheeks. "Of course Erik. I'll always help you." You said. You could feel how much this meant to Erik, and just like it always was, you would always stick by Erik's side.
