It was a breezy day, the perfect spring temperature. You put on a cute outfit with a nice cardigan, you beamed. Today you were going to see your favorite Avenger. Captain America himself, but you would only know him as Steve. You finished primping, and started walking outside to where you were going to meet him. You lived in NYC, and it wasn't a long walk to Stark Towers, your workplace and the home of you best friends. You met Steve outside, when you saw him your heart fluttered. He wore a nice button-up that made his warm blue eyes stand out. You waved to him happily, and ran up to him, greeting him with a quick hug. "Hi Steve." You greeted.
Steve smiled warmly at you, "Hello _____." He said politely, you noticed he seemed more nervous than usual, his fingers were tapping against his leg and he looked flustered.
Your brows furled with concern, "So what do you want to do today?" You asked, not yet wanting to pry about his mood.
Usually Steve would just shrug, and say you could show him around the city. But today was different. "Yes actually, I wanted to take you somewhere, if you want I mean." He gave you a small smile.
You returned it with a happy beam, that must've been why he was nervous. "Oh Steve I'd love to!" You chirped, and the two of you started walking together down the busy streets. Eventually you came to a secluded grove of trees in Central Park, it was spring time and the cherry blossoms were in bloom. You couldn't help but gaze around in awe at the beauty. You and Steve sat next to each other, your legs touching slightly. The little contact made your pulse quicken, you had deep feelings for Steve, but you repressed them because you never knew if he even wanted a relationship.
Little did you know, Steve felt the same way about you. He gently grabbed your hand and cleared his throat. "_____. I have some things I need to tell you." He said, his cheeks red but his gaze determined. Your eyes widened as you looked at him, you held his hand and waited for him to continue. "You've been a great friend of mine since the day I became an Avenger, and you've been with me through thick and thin. But I've always thought of you as more than my friend. You're stunningly gorgeous, the way you smile when you see something cute in a store window, and how you're always so fun to be around. I always get this weird feeling in my chest when I see you, and when a city is in danger you're my first thought. I-I want to be with you _____." He said to you, happy you hadn't yet pulled away your hands. Instead you held his rough hands in yours tightly, you opened your mouth to say something but you couldn't find the words.
"I want to be with you too, Steve." You said in a whisper as you leaned forward and kissed him gently, his hands moved to your back and he held you as you pulled away. Your foreheads touching. Steve had the goofiest smile on his face, and you had one too.
You both laid there for a while, laced in each other's arms under the grove of cherry blossom trees.
