He leads me outside of the room, down the hall of Tammy's office-which is in a high apartment. I avoid Harrison's gaze as we pass him. Tom stops as we are about to pass him, "We'll be on the roof." He says quietly. Harrison gives a slight nod. We go into the lobby and then leave the office completely. Our speed picks up, and suddenly we're running down the hallway and up steps, then we find ourselves on the roof. It's the beginning of October and a small chill is in the air.
"How did you know how to get to the roof?" I ask, wrapping my arms around myself, stepping closer to look at the view of busy L.A citizens. I can't help but think about how many dreamers there are walking around down there just like me. And how I am the lucky one standing next to the one and only Tom Holland.
"I didn't. If you just keep running you can usually find a door somewhere." Tom stands by me. His eyes jump around as he watched cars and people move as well. He glances over at me and suddenly I am more aware of my staring. I jerk my head back, "I missed this," He says. I can still feel his glare.
"Hmm?"
"Feeling... alive." I let a giggle escape, "What?"
"Sounds like one of your lines." I answer. He nods, understandingly.
"Probably was. I know that sounds cheesey," He turns to look at the people again, "But it's the truth. I love my life and my friends and my job. But at the same exact time, I've been so busy. I rarely get time to meet people and have genuine conversations. It's usually 'Can I have a picture' or 'who's that girl' or 'make a good impression on so and so.' Trust me, it gets fucking irritating." I turn to him and take a step closer.
"I'm sorry." He lets out a scoff-it sounds friendly though. (If there's even such thing.)
"I probably shouldn't be ranting to you about this, right?"
"What do you mean?" We are both staring at each other now.
"You're just entering the industry. I shouldn't scare you off." My heart was beating in my chest loudly now.
"I guess I'd rather be scared than to hear lies." I answer. A smirk appears on his lips.
"But lets forget all that negative shit now. Tell me about yourself!" His bright smile as resumed.
"Well, I'm not too fascinating. But I'm 19. I moved out to LA last year trying to get it big in the industry, like many other hopeful souls-" He laughed at this.
"But YOU made it." I turned to him and smiled back.
"I guess I did."
"What else?" This boy was suddenly full on energy I wasn't aware of before.
"I have a guinea pig. She's probably the cutest family member. Oh-that's something! I have a large family. Like, extremely large family." I just kept going and going and going because as I talked to Tom be seemed to give me all of his attention and become fully invested in my story too. It wasn't fake-as far as I could tell. I guess he is a good actor, but either way, it made me feel good about myself. I felt respected and like he really wanted to know me. It brought a blush to my cheeks.
"And when will I get to meet this so called large family?" I quirked an eyebrow up.
"You want to meet them?"
"Sure!"
"You barely know me and you want to meet my entire family?" He nods confidently through it all.
"Yeah. You're right though, I still don't know enough about you. We should change that." A sparkle popped up in his eye.
