"HE DID WHAT?" Tammy yells at me after we start driving.

"He asked me out for a milkshake, so what?"

"WHY DIDN'T YOU GO?" Tammy yells again.

"Stop yelling!"

"NO! TELL ME WHY YOU DIDN'T GO!"

"Because I came with you. I didn't wanna just leave." I explain. She nods.

"Well that's very sweet darlin, but next time Tom Holland asks you out on a DATE you leave your agent behind and you just GO GO GO!" Her energy was insane. I don't know if I've ever seen Tammy this excited at night.

"Okay, okay!" I laugh.

"SERIOUSLY! You make me feel bad for being here,"

"Don't. I wouldn't be here without you anyways," I smile over at her.

"Awwww that's sweet," She pauses, "But really you should've gone."

"Yeah, yeah..."

So long story short, 40 minutes later our car broke down and the excitement from earlier in the night turned into madness and sleep deprivation. Tammy was pressing buttons in the car while I sat on the side of the road, defeated. At least her headlights were working. Suddenly she starts slamming on the horn.

"Tammy. Tammy! Stop," I yell, irritated, "What are you doing!?"

"Trying to get one of these stupid car's attention!" She yells back then lays it on the horn once more, "One of them has to stop sooner or later," She was right. Many cars had passed. Many cars that were way nicer than our's. Many cars probably carrying many rich people who didn't care to stop for two tragic-struck girls on the road. I was in a bad mood, okay?

"PPLLLEEAAASSEEE stop," I groan, laying back in the grass.

"Well we can't just do nothing!" She urges.

"Call a company or something!"

"You KNOW I won't give those corporations my money," She had a weird thing against auto businesses. Something about her ex boyfriend owned one and they cheated everyone out for money? And something about peppermints? Yeah, I don't know, "Have you called anybody yet?"

"My parents won't pick up, although they'll probably be no help. My brother still lives in Maine, so." I shrug, "I'll try to reach Jared. He usually answers." I start to dial his number. It rings and rings and rings then goes to voicemail. I try two more times, but the call is denied. I text him: I NEED HELP NOW PLEASE ANSWER. Then try to call again. Right as I'm about to lose all hope, he answers.

"El?" My eyes widen.

"Yes, yes! It's me! Jared?" I hear weird noises on the other side of the line, "Jared can you hear me?"

"Yeah," His answer was hesitant, "What's up?"

"I hate to say this but my car broke down on the way back from the movie studio. Its an hour 1 ½ away. We're still pretty close to it because we had a difficult time with the GPS. So we are probably an hour away from my house. Could you please come pick Tammy and I up?" There's a long pause, "Jared?" Then a sigh. I hear a woman's voice in the background say 'jared' as well. I suck in a breathe. What did I just interrupt?

"Eleanor, I really can't right now." He finally responds.

"What?"

"Yeah I'm.. I'm in the middle of something," I hear the woman's voice again. She asks 'who's that?' then, 'hang up!'

"What having sex? Jared, I have no way of getting home!"

"El, that-that's not really my problem right now..." He responds, his voice low.

"Why, because Tom is my friend? Ugh, okay, whatever. Be that way. We're right off of Notting Village. If I don't show up for work tomorrow, send someone. " I hear him sigh and start to say something but I hang up.

"Anything?" Tammy asks.

"He's being a vain asshole." I respond.

"Can't you call Tom or somebody else? I could really use a Spiderman right about now."

"No," I groan, putting my hands over my eyes.

"Why not!?" She exclaims loudly again. Her voice had become deadly annoying by now.

"Because I haven't put his number in my phone!"

"Wait" She pauses, realizing, "You have his number?"

"That paper from last night."

"OOOOOOHHH!" She pauses again, "Why in the world wouldn't you enter it into your phone immediately!?"

"I. dont. Know. Tammy."

"If you did we wouldn't be stuck in this mess!" I couldn't deal with her anymore.

"Yeah, whatever. I'm going to bed. Tell me when someone stops."
