chapter 7

   Meanwhile, back in prison, Karena still can't shake Nathans visit off her head.
  Despite this, she is drowning in despair. The manager of CTF bank is not taking chances but taking changes. He has taken Karena and James to court. They  managed to fine a lawyer, but things are getting ugly on their side. 
    The manager,  is a rich, merciless man ready to bring his enemies to dust.

     " I can't believe I took heed to your idiotic idea."
  "Bravo Karena 'idiotic' you say. When I brought the idea, you were all over me telling me how intelligent I was and how you loved my manliness. You know what, I am even more ashamed that I picked a chicken hearted partner like you. Christy was excellent. In bed, in Mafia, in drugs ,she was untamed unlike you... .. "
He said with disgust as she cut him off. " if I ever get out of here, I will burn you to ashes"
" not before I do same Missy. "

The police took them back to their cells.
Every thing was crumbling for Karena, her life was virtually finished. If she came out of prison, it will only be after twenty years. If the jury is fair. Twenty million dollars is a huge catch for a rich guy who is obsessed with money. He is not letting it slip.
      The jury was to give a sentence a week later.

Chills ran down her spine and sweat as blood her face. Urine would come out if the jury wasted anymore time to pass the verdict. She was hardly stable. While she sat by James, tapping her legs on the hard floor and her hands shaky as leaves under the influence if wind,James brought his hands closer to hold hers as to say 'it's okay I am here for you.' She  spotted his move, with the sides of her eye and drew back  her hand before he could make contact. He shrugged in shame.

      It was time for a verdict.
"We the jury have carefully considered the law in our verdict and we found Miss Karena Walters and James Brown to be guilty as charged. Therefore, we decided by law, a five year sentence for both. With chances of a parole."

     The court was rowdy and peoples mouth dropped open. The manager, young elegant and handsome  Noah Barack, was most shocked. 'Surely the jury must be joking' he thought to him self. 'Twenty million dollars is worth to me more than their lives combined. '
As he thought, he threw his eyes round the room and met the gaze  of James who stared victoriously at him.
    Karena had never been more shocked 'five years, what is going on here? Surely it was a mistake. '
She thought. Little did she know God was working things out for her by mercy.
She threw her eyes around the room with shock and she meet the gaze of Noah,who gave a wicked grin.
'Nobody tries to bring me down  and goes court free. That's a fact not even you Missy'  he mumbled to himself.
       Karena stood there and tears ran down her cheeks she was more than amazed.

      " Help! Help! Help ! Some body help me.
  The waves toasted her boat back and front, left and right. Once more there was no steering. This time there, there was no Nathan to help. Suddenly it was a black realm, every thing was darkness. She spotted from a distance a masquerade running towards her tirelessly and effortlessly. The masquerade, had on his head  two horns as long as elephant tusk, a face of skeleton, eye balls red as blood a beard as long as his height -- six feet tall.
He was about to devour her. There was no way out. The freight was too much, she could hardly breath ,her eyes were white with freight, she could not breath.  Out of the darkness, a light shined to the roasting of the masquerade to dust. Then a being brighter than a million suns together called her with an enchanting voice of authority.
      " come daughter, come"
She followed with out asking questions. Finally, they reached their destination. It was like they had been walking through a tunnel and entered a new world.
  My God! Had she ever seen beauty. There was a vast green field with flowers. Everything a human could desire.
    " this is yours. Only heed the words of my servant."

      Karena awoke from her sleep all soaked in sweat. She could not understand the dream, the bright being, the masquerade and the green field.

" the bright being could it be......... Certainly not. It Can't be or could it..... " she was confused and now more than ever she needed explanation.

  " ummm,  Jamie what do you say ,we give this house a clean up."
      " who are you and what have you done to my mother?"
   " come on it will be fun. Me and you together "
" mom is it you?"

Things were finally turning around faster than Jamie could understand. Finally God was answering her prayers. She found her dad, her mom was normal and her life was lovable for the first time.

    At Phillip's place, he sat by his widow, thinking of how his life had unravelled . In so many years, the only woman he ever loved was back from the dead and now he has a daughter.           " may be it's time I settle down and have a family." 
Phillip said to himself in assurance.
