The ride to Mexico was spent discussing anything and everything to keep our minds off the fact that we were being sold off to the slave trade. We heard people pacing up and down the deck of the ship, and we made alot of noise to see if they would let us go. They just banged on the container and told us to shut up. So our game of 'make noise and escape' quickly turned into a game of: 'Piss off everyone else.' It was so funny, and every time we got told to shut up and threatened with various things, we replied with equally as bad things and laughed hysterically.

"LET US OUT!"

"SHUT UP IN THERE OR I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL THROW YOU OVERBOARD!"

"BUT THEN YOU WON'T GET ANY CRACK!"

There was silence after that as the guy didn't respond, and we all broke into fits of laughter.

We were just trying to make the best of the situation, and it was working. The mood had lightened, but none of us were really happy. There was that ebbing worry in the back of our minds that just wouldn't go away, no matter how much we laughed.

We managed to get a couple of hours sleep through the night, and were rudely awoken in the morning by two ship attendants banging on the side of our container.

"WAKE UP!"

"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" Gen fumed, struggling to pry her eyes open.

"This is what you get for making such a racket!"

"I'LL GET YOUR FAMILY YOU GORDO, FEO BASTARDI!" I cursed in Spanish. It was way more funny than cursing in English.

We made mild conversation until we heard the ship dock up.

The entrance to the container opened, and four men stood there.

One of them grabbed my hair and yanked me out, throwing me on the floor. I yelped in pain, and grabbed my head as if trying to replace my hair.

"You leave her alone!" Darius fumed.

"Or what pretty boy?"

"I'll rip your god damn lungs out!" This earned him a smack round the back of the head, and he was thrown down next to me. We held each other for comfort, and screamed profanities as the others were treated with an equal amount of brute force.

Darius and I held on to each other for dear life. I think we both just wanted the comfort of not being alone with these sick men.

One by one, we were dragged over to a taxi. We had to walk about a mile through the town to get there. To my dismay, there was nobody around to ask for help. I turned to the guy that was holding my arm.

"I hope you know, slave trade was abolished ages ago."

"Yeah. Your point?"

"Why are you doing this? This is wrong!"

"Powder and money, kiddo. Grown up stuff."

"I can't believe you'd be so stupid. We learned about this at school, people dilute cocaine and heroine with flour, sugar and other stuff. So by the time it gets to you, it's only about 5% pure heroine or cocaine."

"Yeah, alright smart arse. I don't care, get high, live fast, die young."

"You disgust me. You are the scum of the earth. You deserve absolutely naff all-" I was cut off by a slap to the face.

That felt like it would bruise.

"Keep it down, or you'll regret it."

We were taken to a huge house. More like a mansion. It looked like it belonged to some sort of mafia boss.

"Welcome home, kids."
