Fliss and I finished up watering the plants rather quickly, so we decided to go and see how the others were doing.

They were where we left them, except they were just sitting there.

"What are you doing back here?" Gen asked.

"We're done. What about you?"

"Us too. Someone pulled in about half an hour ago, and we're trying to decide who it was."

"Well, what was the car like?" I asked. Fliss and I sat down with them.

"A hummer-type-thing."

"Dunno. Maybe we'll never find out."

"We should go back inside, I'm melting." Darius said, getting up and brushing his trousers of any small stones and dust.

We all followed suit, and started walking inside.

I saw the car they were on about in the garage, and the curiosity to know who it belonged to was eating me alive.

When we got in, we got changed and started just lounging about, getting to know each other a little bit more.

"Do any of you speak any foreign languages?" Steve asked.

"I speak Spanish, French, and Italian." I said.

"Spanish." Gen said, while biting her nails.

"French." Fliss added, angrily swatting at Gen.

"Latin, Mandarin, French, Spanish." Darius said, as though it was no big deal.

"What?!"

"That's mental!"

"No way you speak Latin."

"Do you wanna bet? Beca-" Darius was cut off as the door was opened and a boy who looked strangely familiar tumbled through the door.

"Kian?!" Gen and I shrieked, running up and hugging him.

It might have seemed wierd that we were hugging him when we barely knew him, and his family had us shipped off. However, any sense of anything familiar was greatly welcomed.

"I'm so sorry." He said, already on the verge of tears.

"Who is this?" Fliss asked. I felt stupid, forgetting that they were all still here.

"This is Kian, we stayed with his family before we got shipped off here." Gen nanchalantly informed everyone. I don't think she was aware of how bad that sounded to everyone else.

"It's not as bad as it sounds." I explained.

Gen and I burst into our backstories and basically told everyone everything.

From my bullying, to flagging my parents, to kicking that guy where it hurts, to Matt and Evan. They seemed to understand, and I was kind of glad I had all of that out in the open. I had never told anyone this much about my life except Johnny.

Johnny.

Every time I thought about Johnny, my heart tightened a little bit. I missed him like crazy and wished he was here to help me. He would know what to do.

We welcomed Kian, and moved our bags off the spare bunk so he could have that bed.

"Kian?" I asked.

"Yeah?"

"Why are you here?"

His face took on a sombre expression and he suddenly looked quite sad.

"My parents found out I was trying to help you guys, so they sent me away too." He explained.

I suddenly felt bad. This kid had sacrificed his home, his parents, and his freedom just so he could come to us. I really appreciated it.

"You didn't have to do this for us, Kian." I looked sympathetically at him.

"I did." He replied, simply.

"No, you didn't."

"Hey, Kassy?" I heard a familiar voice whisper.

I sat bolt upright. I couldn't sleep. There was so much going round in my mind and I was getting restless.

"Yeah, Darius?"

"I can't sleep again."

"Me neither."

I felt Darius get under the covers next to me, and he wrapped his arm around me as I rested my head on his shoulder. It reminded me of that night when I got beaten up, and had spent the night with Johnny.

Johnny.

I found myself thinking about him more and more lately. There was an aching in my heart that longed for him to be next to me, telling me that it would all be okay.

"What's on your mind?" Darius asked.

"Home. What about you?" I replied.

"Me too. I'm just wondering if we're ever going to see it again."

"We will."

We laid for a while longer, and I could tell that Darius had fallen asleep as his breathing evened out.

Darkness clouded my vision, but just as I was about to sleep, I muttered:

"Probably."
