Ivan's p.o.v
"I seriously can't wait to surprise Lucy man, I have so much planned for her, she's gonna love it" I told my brother Emilio, he was nodding along, although probably wasn't listening to what I was saying "yeah she sure will" he said back, not taking his eyes off his phone, I rolled my eyes and leant against the car waiting for Lucy to finish getting ready so I could start our day of adventures. As I leant against the car I lost myself in a trail of thoughts, Emilio started to talk although I didn't listen to a word he was saying, instead I was thinking back to the amazing day I met Lucy Evans...
*Flashback to Spain a year before*
Emilio and I were walking along the beach, we were at the edge of the sea so only our feet were getting wet by the cold salty water, as I was walking along I was thinking about how excited I was to be going home to California, even though I loved visiting my family here in Spain. As I was walking next to Emilio, I got lost in my thoughts, I heard the most beautiful laughter, I looked to the left of me and saw a group of three girls all laughing amongst themselves, although only one of them stood out to me. She's the shortest of the group, although in my eyes she's the prettiest of the group. Her long, wavy, golden blonde hair glistened in the sunlight as the wind carried her hair behind her gracefully. She looked so happy, her smile was wide and bright, the sun reflected off her white teeth and glistening pink lips. She had long, strong legs for a girl her height, she looked to be around 5 ft 2 maybe 5 ft 3, although I couldn't quite figure it out. She was just beautiful. Emilio must have caught on that I was staring at a goddess walking past as he clicked his fingers in my face, bringing me back to reality "what? What were you saying Emilio?" I asked quickly
"You were checking her out" Emilio said back laughing and teasing me like we were young school boys again. He started lightly shoving me and so I shoved him back, we were laughing loads and fell to the ground in the shallow sea wrestling, I managed to keep Emilio down and he released in defeat, dropping his arms into the water laughing. I stood up and started to walk backwards, pointing and laughing at my brother who was laying hopelessly in the water, as I was walking back I felt someone hit against me and heard a light voice cry a slight "oomf" I instantly turned around apologising, seeing that I had knocked someone to the ground, and the person it was was the beautiful girl with golden blonde hair. "Oh my goodness, I am so sorry" I said, reaching out both my hands to help her up, she giggled and said in a beautiful light voice "honestly it's fine" I nodded in relief as she took ahold of my hands and pulled herself up. I looked at our conjoined hands for the seconds they were connected and saw how tiny her hands were in mine. They fitted perfectly. We stood only inches apart from each other and just stared deeply into each others eyes, I knew it only lasted seconds although it felt like it lasted hours, that was until Emilio ran up behind me and slung his arm around my shoulders, making me jump from shock, I didn't expect to see him although it made the gorgeous blonde girl laugh, so it was okay and I laughed along with her and her friends. "We should probably get going" one of the other girls said, tapping the blonde one on the shoulder, she nodded in response "okay"
"Well, I guess I'll see you around" she said, I nodded, not able to speak as I watched her and her friends walk away, as they were getting further and further away Emilio whacked me on the back "ouch!" I cried, although he just nodded towards the girls, so I cleared my throat and called out to them "wait" I called they stopped and turned around, I quickly jogged over to them and stopped only a couple feet away "I never caught your name" I said, directing it to only the golden blonde girl, she giggled slightly "My name is Lucy. Lucy Evans" I nodded, repeating her name in my head "and this is Alex and Jessie" she said, pointing to the two girls behind her "well it's nice to meet you Lucy Evans, I'm Ivan Martinez, and that's my brother Emilio" I said, pointing over to Emilio, who waved towards the girls and I, in which Lucy waved back. "Do you want to stay and hang out with us for a while" I said, not even controlling what I was saying, Lucy had a shocked expression on her face, so I quietly sighed, ready for rejection "I mean if it's okay with you girls" she said, turning to face her two friends, my face lit up and a cheeky smile grew across my face. "Well I should really get home" Alex said
"yeah me too, you can stay if you want though" Jessie also said, Lucy nodded
"Are you sure" she clarified and in response her friends nodded, "okay" Lucy said smiling, they all had a group hug and Alex and Jessie started to walk away "so let's get to know each other" I said, nudging her arm gently "okay" she said in response and then it all started, we got to know each other and Lucy got to know Emilio and from then on we started messaging and phoning each other everyday and soon started dating.
*flashback ends*
I was knocked out of my amazing flashback to Emilio clicking in my face, just like he did a year before, although he was clicking in my face not to tell me something but because Lucy had finished getting ready, and she looked amazing. Casual, but amazing. She was wearing some white converse on her feet with some ripped denim shorts, revealing her perfect legs, she was also wearing a cropped baggy black top which had a picture of a slice of pizza in the corner, she had light makeup on and her hair like usual, hanging down to her waist with its usual wavy curls. "You look beautiful" I told her, lightly pecking her forehead and wrapping my arm around her shoulders protectively "are you ready for a day of adventures and romance for our one year anniversary" I said, she smiled a huge smile, revealing her glistening white teeth "I sure am" she said in response, and with that we said goodbye to Emilio and jumped in the car to drive to our first destination.
