A Different Huntsman (a RWBY fanfiction)

chapter 7

Mesagi, having a sense of confidence, was standing on the arena, his arm resting onto one of his katanas. He heard the students cheering for different sides.

Both of his katanas now had chains at the end of the hilt, and he also had the chain wrapped around his waist. It was stuck onto him, but he knows how to let the chain let go of him.

In the opposite of Mesagi, was team CRDL, seemingly intimidating with their weapons.

"You can do this, Mesagi!!!" You heard team RWBY's yell somewhere, which made him smile slightly.

"Let the match begin!" They all heard the announcer yell out, and instantly, Mesagi closed his eyes and took a deep breaths.

When he opened his eyes, he jumped and made a 360° sideway turn, and the weapons team CRDL did not hit them at all.

Mesagi got to his feet and dodged a swing made by the boy with the mace.

He suddenly saw one glowing and before Mesagi can even process, he was already flown off several feet away by the speed.

This didn't stop Mesagi as he stood back up, taking his katanas out, and the chains rattled in the process.

"Alright then. Let's get this started!" He yelled out, changing his left katana into his hand-held shotgun, the chain wrapped around the trigger and the holster.

He pulled the top part of the shotgun, and it was the same the same boy glowed.

Mesagi instantly dodged and threw the shotgun towards one of Cardin's team mate who had a halberd.

Before the one with the halbert managed to guard, Mesagi pulled the chain back to him.

This causes the shotgun to instantly blast out its red coloured pellets out and spun back to Mesagi thanks to the recoil.

It was also the same moment the pellets exploded, causing the boy with the halbert to fly and fall, clearly fainted already.

"Anyone next?" Mesagi asked, looking at the remaining three, who seemed more determined to beat him down.

"Okay then. Spectators get down. Do as I say or pay the price," Mesagi told them, holding onto the chain of the shotgun.

Surprisingly, the spectators did just that, and when he saw team CRDL were quickly approaching, he instantly spun the shotgun around.

This caused the shotguns' pellets to fly everywhere, exploding as well, but more suprisingly, the remainder of CRDL were still standing.

"Whoa. . ." Now Mesagi was impressed, but before he could react, he felt strong contact on his chest, causing him to roll backwards before stopping, panting for air as he held onto his chest.

"Is this the end? Man that was boring," Cardin said, smirking, as Mesagi was still panting.

Mesagi then did the unexpected. He suddenly glowed as well, slowly standing up.

"Alright then. That's how you wanna play. Okay!" He yelled out, and soon enough, the glow faded.

Mesagi knew what this means; his semblance has been activated. The others took it elsewhere.

"Wow! You have no semblance at all! That's pretty stupid!" Cardin yelled out, laughing.

Mesagi then reloaded his shotgun with a yellow magazine, and ran straight towards Cardin.

Cardin, seeing this, attempted to use his aura, but didn't seem to activate it.

"What the hell?!" He yelled out, and that was the same time Mesagi gave a head shot and a taser shock to his body.

The result, Mesagi backed away slightly, getting used with shooting a shotgun with one hand, while Cardin was twitching on the ground, fainted, his hair standing on ends.

He then deflected a blade attack and kicked the mace away before backing away and got his shotgun back into a katana and put them back-handed.

As everyone watched in wonder, Mesagi let the blades come into contact, resulting both katanas to diffuse and became a katana that was twice the original size of either blades.

"ZANTETSUKEN!!" Mesagi suddenly yelled out, and, as fast as lightning, had slashed the rest of team CRDL.

When he returned the katanas back to their original size, the two boys fell to the ground.

"The winner is Mesagi again!"
