The woods may seem like the world's most cliched spot for romance.
That's probably because it is the world's most cliched spot for romance.

Charlotte got whisked away into the darkness of the woods with only the strange calling as her guide. She kept her senses in check, walking into whatever it was the moonlit void had waiting for her.

'Forward and onward', something her mother used to tell her at times of panic and she walked on with that in mind, playing over and over again. She gazed towards the sky and saw tree stars peeking through the frame of tree branches.

"Closer, you' re almost there."

The sound of crickets and wind came to a stop. Charlotte halts and stares upward again, this time the stars substituted with blue flickering dots. Looks almost magnificent but does not let herself feel it through the coil she was spun around in.

"You have done well, Rose."

"What do you want?" Charlotte shouts back at the void forest.

"The light shines till the darkness arrives, but the darkness pocess the power to consume the light.

I want you to find the child of power. The child that holds the light through the dark. The infant that serves as a key to our predicament."

"Why should I do this for you? It seems pretty easy for you to lure me here and make it seem like it was my idea. Why don't you do the same with the child?"

The blue dots started to hover over charlotte now, illuminating the ground she stood on. Charlotte was inside a grey circle and it had one letter.

M.

"Because you are my mirror."
