Song Used: Saw you in a dream - The Japanese House

"Why don't you stay over since Sydney's gonna be here for a while?" I wanted to smash Caleb's head against the very well-polished kitchen counter of ours, as we stood in the living room.

"Would that be okay?" Paige asked as she subtly glanced in my direction.

Shaking my head frantically, I tried to convey it to Caleb that Paige was definitely not allowed to stay over. But, since my brother is a thick-headed moron who has no respect for his sister, he didn't get the hint.

Smiling his approval, he gave Paige a pat on the shoulder. "Definitely!"

I slapped my forehead before sighing defeatedly. Well, at least, he didn't tell me to take care of Paige while he went to do whatever he wanted. I mean, the least I need is for me to keep Paige company when mom isn't around.

The conversation in Paige's car shouldn't have a continuation since it was cringe-worthy already, I didn't want it to have a second part.

"Jade can keep you company while I go take care of whatever." Caleb spoke with a grin as he waved his office bag around a little. I slapped myself on the forehead again, hoping to form a bruise just so I can be reminded that I have the world's most inconsiderate brother.

Paige looked uncomfortable as Caleb gave her another shoulder pat and then went on his merry way to his room.

We stood there for a while – I, with my dripping bag and soaking wet clothes, and her, with her wandering eyes and awkward posture – but then, I clapped my hands loudly for no good reason, and cringed afterwards.

"Okay, let's go to my room then."

For a minute, Paige looked like she wanted to protest but then she opted to follow me, as I went towards the stairs to go to my room.

We ascended the stairs silently except for the occasional creeks of the wooden boards of our house. I mean, creeks are always there, even if the wood is new or not.

I sighed once we were up, and then glanced over my shoulder to see that Paige was following me till that point or not. Once, I saw that Paige was definitely following me, I went to my room.

Opening my room door, I threw the bag in the corner which wasn't occupied the most, before taking off my shoes, which were definitely going to take a while to get back to the way they were before.

"Nice room." I nodded my head half-heartedly, as I went over to my dresser to get myself some decent clothes. "You like Coldplay too?"

I glanced over my shoulder to look at the goddess that was busy looking around my semi-messy room. Oh, if only she knew how much into Coldplay I really was now.

"Yeah. They're amazing." I spoke walking over to her as she stared at the various posters of the band gracing the walls of my room.

Paige nodded glancing over to me before she cleared her throat and went over to sit on my bed. "You should change into something dry." She pointed out and I just watched her for a while before doing exactly what she had said.

Going back to my dresser, I took out a pair of shorts and a t-shirt before glancing back at the girl that was now lying down on my bed. Note to self: never wash those sheets ever again.

"I'll be back." I spoke gripping the clothes close to my chest as I pointed to the bathroom. Getting a nod from Paige, I quickly went inside of the bathroom, closing the door behind me with a mild slam.
