The two days went by like a blur with Tim and I just lounging around the cafeteria just like the rest of the students who didn't want to work anymore and were fine with coming to school if it meant no classes.
Tim and I usually played games on our phones all day while eating junk food. Zoe had joined us for a while since she was tired of running around from the gym to the storage room that was in the basement. But, Paige and Bridget were always somewhere. I hadn't seen them both in two days, and I had to admit, I was missing both of them.
Well, I didn't know why I missed Bridget, but I did know why my eyes searched for Paige whenever Zoe would join us. Ever since Paige had asked me to prom and I had agreed, I wanted nothing more than to be near her. I didn't know why I was suddenly feeling like this, as if I was convincing myself of my feelings just by being close to her.
It wasn't like I had ever questioned my feelings for Paige, it was just that there was this nagging in my heart that wasn't ready to accept that Paige did have some feelings for me.
It was just too good to believe.
"Hey, Jade." I looked behind me to find Julian with a huge bag of chips. Tim's eyes sparkled as he immediately snatched the bag from Julian's hands, who only laughed before sitting beside me.
"It's nice to meet you too, Timothy." Tim gave the boy a small apologetic smile before nodding at him. "Call me Tim." Julian laughed when Tim spoke with his mouth already full of chips.
I just shook my head at my best friend.
Julian had become a good friend to me because he fed me junk food and he was a good advice-giver. This was the first time, Julian had met Tim shockingly, and I was shocked as to how Tim hadn't met Julian before in middle school. Julian was a really nice guy and I was sure that he would've gotten along with almost everyone in the school.
Yes, he was kind of nerdy and sometimes he didn't make sense, but he was cool.
"So, how's life in paradise?" Julian turned to me with a smile as he also ate from the bag of chips that, gratefully, Tim had placed in the middle of the table.
I frowned before sighing. "Okay."
"I heard Bridget is gonna attend the prom alone this year." My eyebrows knitted together as I looked at Julian, who gave me a smirk. "Why?"
"Well, since you said no to her." Tim answered my question and I raised an eyebrow at him, while he looked at me with a dumb expression. The last thing I remember happening between us was when she had almost ordered me to attend prom, not with her but just attend it.
And then she went all cold as ice on me, and avoided me like I had cooties or something.
"I didn't say no to anyone." Tim stared at me for a while as if judging me, before his eyes widened as if he had realized something. Julian laughed from beside me as he slapped the table a few times. Why were these two acting like retards?
"What? What?" I asked and got no answer as Tim grumbled something under her breath and Julian muffled his laughter by placing his hand on his mouth.
When I didn't get an answer from the two, I frowned and slumped in my seat.
"For someone who has known Paige and Bridget since middle school, you sure are oblivious to their actions." Tim frowned at what Julian had said and I was confused as to what he had meant.
What actions? Paige and Bridget's actions were pretty much obvious. Paige was shy and Bridget wasn't. Paige was nice, and Bridget wasn't. But Bridget was courageous while Paige wasn't all the time.
