Chapter 28: It's You

"Please tell me again, how you managed to lose your date in only a span of minutes." Tim laughed at me, he freaking laughed at me, when he should be comforting me and telling me that it would be okay.

I had told him, like three times, how some girl dressed in a purple dress took Paige away from me but no, he really didn't seem to care since he was being entertained by my misery.

We were currently sitting at a table where Julian had called us over. He was sitting there all alone until he spotted us and called us to join him which we did without a doubt.

I had an idea that my problem would be taken lightly by Tim and completely disregarded by Julian – who had told me to solve it myself – so I went directly to Zoe, and she had immediately gone away to look for Paige.

"I'm still finding it hard to believe that you mismatched with Paige. Oh my god, that must be embarrassing." I shot Julian a deadly glare which definitely didn't make his laughing stop.

I groaned, giving up, as I put my face in my hands.

"Hey, look at the bright side." Tim patted my shoulder and I looked at him, waiting for him to tell me about the bright side that he mentioned. "There is no bright side, Timothy." Julian chimed in and I groaned again before hiding my face in my hands.

Oh my god, I can just feel it. This night is gonna turn worse than it already is. Paige will leave me alo—

"You don't think that she went home, did she?" I asked Tim as soon as the thought entered my head, and the guy only shrugged his shoulders at me. Damn him!

"Why would she?" Julian asked back as he frowned, and I looked at him before bringing my hand to my mouth and nibbling at my nails. "Because we aren't wearing the same colors."

He raised an eyebrow at me as he muffled a laugh.

"Don't laugh at me! I'm already freaking out!"

"Look, she asked you to this shit, she won't leave you here alone." Tim tried to calm me down as he leaned back in his chair. I nodded my head as I looked around at the dance floor which was filled with happy couples dancing and enjoying themselves.

The song playing wasn't so bad too. Who was I kidding? The songs were all so romantic and cringe-y. They made me want to puke flowers.

"Hey, I'm gonna be back, okay?" Tim stood up from his seat and I was already looking at him as he sent a small smile. "Where are you going?"

He lifted up his pinky finger and I gave him a glare while he stuck his tongue out at me. Pushing him, I gave him the middle finger while Julian laughed at us.

I watched him leave the gym through the mass of students dancing and mingling, to go to the bathroom.

"Why don't you go dance with Janet until Paige comes back?" Julian joked as he pointed towards the stage where his sister was scolding the DJ about something. I shivered before giving him a shake of the head. "I'm fine right here."

He laughed before getting up from his seat too. "I'm gonna get something to eat."

"Get me something too, and get me some punch as well." He raised an eyebrow at me, while I gave him the puppy-dog look which he ignored as he practically sprinted away from me, making me glare at his back.

Mean people all around me.

I was in the middle of moping around when I finally saw my date enter the gym. Quickly getting up from my seat, I noticed how the song had changed and this song wasn't as cringe worthy as all the others that had been played.
