Chap 24- meet my brother

Rory's POV

I sighed. "Jay, this is Kevin. Kevin, this is my brother Jay. He's my best friend."

"Hey." Jay smiled sheepishly. Kevin looked from me to Jay and back several times, before crushing me in a hug.

"I'm so sorry I assumed things," he said quietly. "I just, I freaked out. It's not that I don't trust you-" I interrupted him.

"It's okay Kev, we know it looked bad. I really can't blame you. The fact that you let me explain means a lot." He pulled back and scanned my face, and then kissed me quickly.

"Okay," he breathed. "Shall we start again?" He stuck his hand out to Jay. "Hey man, I'm Kevin, your sisters boyfriend?" Jay smiled and shook it.

"Hey, I'm Jay, your girlfriends brother." They grinned and I smiled in relief.

After the boys had talked for a bit, Kevin spoke up.

"Hey, I have to go, I have to meet someone, but I'll see you later, yeah?"

"Uh huh," I said happily. "Oh wait, I meant to ask, do you think we could meet up with everyone later? Jay doesn't know anyone."

"I don't think we're doing anything, but you will have to ask them. Text me when you know what's happening?" I nodded, and he waved before walking off.

I looked down at my still bare feet.

"I want to hear about the rest of stuff at home, and there is some stuff I didn't tell you yet, but I think we should go inside." He saw my feet and nodded.

"You are so weird. Please tell me this isn't a regular thing?" He pleaded as we started walking. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"Nah, we were at the beach before I came to fetch you."

We got inside, and I gestured to the kitchen. "Make yourself at home, let me just text the others." I added their contacts to a group message, thinking a second before adding Kevin too, to keep him in the loop.

To; Avi and five others:

Hey guys, I was wondering if you are all free tonight. My brothers in town and wants to meet you!

Scott:

Wait, jay?

To; six contacts:

Yep, him. We could go to the burger place?

Mitch:

Yes please! We haven't been there in a month.

Esther:

I think Avi and I can make it.

Avi:

Yeah, no problem.

To; six contacts:

Kirstie, do you want to bring matt? Avi, you can bring Charlie too if you want.

Kirstie:

I can ask.

Avi:

Please! She says she's free.

Kirstie:

So is matt.

Mitch:

How many then? They do reservations for groups 6+.
