Deadly Darkness || Chapter Twelve || The Fragile Peacekeeper.

One by one Wolves emerged from the undergrowth, all different yet somehow the same.

Browns, greys, blondes, mixed blacks and whites, Vlader shuttered at sight how in Artemis's name would she ever endeavor to defect all those wolves.

Kris sensed hundreds easily at least five packs. A feeling of anxiousness made it self aware to her for the first time.

Shit! They were allot move prepared then she had originally thought they would be.

All was silent before the  Alpha Wolves announced the fight to begin by synchronized howls.

Wolves in abandon begun to they launched at Kris.

It begun.

Vlader started firing in all directions taking out wolves left right and center. With the last arrow from that part of the trees Vlader's arrow sliced right between the eyes of a grey Wolf that had crept up behind Kris.

In haste he jump from his perch to the next set of trees, where more full quivers were strung.

Though Kris had killed all his family and clan members he wouldn't let her die, if only for the fear of his own death. Though he himself knew it wasn't fear of death that kept he shooting by rather the compassion Vlader had grown for her.

If he let himself admitted it, he wasn't ever fully accept by his clan nor his parents ever cared for him. It wasn't the way of the DarkOnes to have feelings other then rage and hate, even towards your own blood. He was the anomaly.

Grasping hold of the wolves jaws, hugs teeth ripping into he hands, Kris pulled up shredding the wolf straight in half.

Not even a breath later two at once attacked, she felt the air shifted as they catapulted their bodies at her.

Time seemed to slow down as Kris extended her leg up to knock one wolfs head while ducking under the second wolf letting it slam into the first wolf.

The force of their impacted seemed to shattered all their bones, killing them instantly.

Once again time begun at normal pace, as the blood shred continued.

She couldn't shift to her wolf form without having her attackers know she was the 'princess'. Kris was sure that would only angry them more, and give them more absentive to kill her.

Wolves from all angles attacked and Kris fought then off.

The pack wolves seemed to lessen at time went on.

Kris was thankful she was slowly losing energy, not even she could last forever.

Kris thought she had won the battle until she felt a mass of ground movement all around her, hundreds, maybe thousands of creatures.

All heading towards her.

*

"Fuck!" Kris cursed to herself, how had she missed them?

Their body mass was near impossible to miss.

Witch.

Kris realised.

The only way the could possible hid from her was a witch.

If only she concentrated she would have sensed the magic aura.

Again she cursed, Want other tricks would they have up there sleeves.

It wasn't unknown to Kris that most species wanted her, or more correctly Mors dead.

Tiring quickly and with nothing short of about army was on it way.

*

Vlader released his last arrow just as a pain went through his skull, something, or really someone had struck him over the head.

Vlader grasp on the trees slipped at darkness loomed ready to take over, the last thing he saw as his body smashed into trees at he free falled towards the hard ground was a female figure all dress in army green.

*

Kris was running short on ideas even as she continued to fight off wolf after wolf.

She wouldn't run, it just wasn't in her natural, it was now a fight to the death and the odds weren't favoring her at all.

The new ambush sprung from the trees. Her every move was taxing and Vlader had, by the sound of it run out of arrows.

Just for a single moment, hardly a second as Kris tried to tune into Vlader's presence, she was tackled from behind.

Dog move.

Flipping over she kicked the wolf off her or at least tried, he seemed to weigh a ton. If this had happened at the beginning of the fight she would have easily pushed him of and tore his throat out.

The wolf above her turned back to human form and continued to force her to be still.

All fighting had ceased, it was over, she had lost.

Kris was ready to die, want did she have to live for anyway? Nothing.

Her species thought she was evil, her parents want to kill her.  And she hadn't talked to her brothers in years. Her Alpha mate rejected her when she was a kid. And she, on her own was trying to eliminate an whole species.

No one would miss her, everyone would probably rejoice in her demise.

She took a deep breath in as she prepared for the final blow, the one that would even her miserable life, when she was stuck with a familiar scent.

A wolf-like growl left her lips at her knowing Peter held her at his mercy. (Peter evil guard)

Heavy Silver and Wolfbane cuffs were placed on her arms and legs. The cuffs and chains were so heavy and thick that it took four men at both end to carry it.

Her hood, in only what she could call magic or a blessing had stayed on and faithfully hid her identity.

Suddenly in a burst, a smell, no, scent assaulted Kris's senses.

'Mate' Her wolf called 'I Want Mate Give Me Mate'.

This stunned Kris beyond possibility. It wasn't the Alpha scent her mate that rejected her would give off, no this was the scent of an omega,

"the fragile peacekeeper."
