Her fingers ran fast across the bumbs on page taking in the knowledge of the words. In the last five years her room was all but a library, she was sure she had more then the great library. After all living in the lone high tower gave you lots of space.

A few day after she woke woke Kristina had, on her parents orders, been moved to the tower. They had played it off saying "There aren't rank enough rooms" They lived in a castle, there were rooms that hadn't seen another person in years - besides the maids.

She didn't mind the less she was around them the better.

Kristina Sighed, Tonight was the annual United Packs dinner. It didn't excite her at all. She wore a black sundress as directed by her maid who had chosen it. She has kneehigh boots and has her cloak.

A large ring sound echoed the castle, the meeting was over and it was time for the grand dinner.

She hoped to go unnoticed but she knew her wish would go unanswered.

As she slipped through the groups of people walking into the hall she thankful that no one noticed her... Yet.

As she sat it was like she sent out a sonar message telling everyone she was there and to please state at her.

Even if they did stare all they would see was a cloak and boots.

No one knew how she looked now, not even the doctor as she refused to be seem by him. They would be blind to her looks as they had made blind to their and the world.

Soon she was ignored beside from the occasional stare and soft spoken insult.

"Who is she?" she heard a voice inquire. She could feel his stare on her so she knew it to be her they were taking about.

"That my son is Princess Kristina Blake. When she was younger she was a beauty so much so that even the most godlike angel wouldn't even compare to her. Her eyes were unique and she was full of life, the whole room would all have an eye and an ear of her. Its been five years since anyone's ever seen that pretty face" An elder man whispered, from the power in his voice she could tell he was an alpha.

"She smells pretty" he said,by this time she had stopped eating and focused entirely in their quite conversation.

"Go, my boy"

Said boy got up and started walking toward the head table.

Once people realised where he headed they all stopped to watch.

"Miss Kristina?" he addressed her.

She turned in her seat and faced the direction of his heavenly scent.

"Yes"

"I believe you are my mate"

It didn't just shock Kristina his announcement but everyone.

She begun to smile so wide she worried her melted lips would split.

Her heart rose she was going to get her happy every after after all. Tears burned her sightless eyes, and heart beat hard against get chest. She was almost gasping in joy.

Love, she would finally have love.

She was almost so caught up in her in her thought that she didn't hear what people said. Key word almost.

"She's his mate? poor boy"

"I won't follow his order"

"If I was in that boys pack I would leave immediately"

"Disgraceful future alpha"

"He should rejected her, he will if hes smart"

Their words hurt but she had her mate nothing could bring her down.

She felt the air shifter around him, he was listen to them.

No surely Lady Luna wouldn't be so cruel.

Please, she begged. Please Anything but this.

The tears stung her eyes for an completely difference reason.

She begged and hoped to all the Gods that he wouldn't listen to them, that he would stand by his hearts - and wolfs' - wishes.

She bowed her head when she realised he has made his mind.

Please, her final plea.

He walked towards her a smile gracing his lips, he has chosen her.

Or so she thought.

When he reached her he pulled is not off her cloak unmasking her to the world.

Gasps and whispers then arose.

Her face was now seen, melted eyes and mouth. Her disfigurement, the after affects of their actions.

Her mate, her love, her befriend, her life suddenly threw his head back and laugh.

Soon all - but some - begun to laugh and point with him.

A single tear left her eye, three first in five years.

She stood there and took it. Kristina took in a deep breath clenching her jaw before facing the crowd with a blank face. All emotion wiped from her face.

When the hall finally quieted down her mate begun, "I don't want you. Your ugly, a disgrace to our kind. I Kyo Tiger rejected you Princess Kristina Blake as my mate"

Her still tiny ten year old body shook with repressed emotions.

To drive the knife deeper he added, "I hate you"

The hall was silent before they all started cheering and shouting. Congratulating him in his rejection of her.

As another tear left her eye she pulled get cloak up to conceal what had already been seen and rushed out of the room hardly being noticed.

But as she left she heard two voices,

He mate faint whisper "Goodbye "

and

His father, "So sorry princess he is so terribly foolish"

She paused when she reached the door and nodded to him before disappearing.

Later as she sat in her room she noticed she hasn't cried or weeped, she didn't feel hurt or sadness. All she could feel was anger, apart from that she feel more felt emotionless.

No she didn't just feel emotionless, she was emotionless.
