No matter how much he tried, Captain Ace couldn't fall asleep for the life him. He had been tossing and turning for hours with no respite. Finally unable to lay abed any longer he pushed his blankets off and stood, still wearing day clothes. Since Kris had given the warning that the DarkOnes will attack in three no- it was morning now - two day he knew he needed to be prepared.

He quickly shoved on his pair of boots and soundlessly left his room. The halls were dark and silent as to be expected at this earlier hour.

"I've really screwed up," he spoke softly to himself.

He had brought his specie here, made the other OtherWorlders aware of their presence. It would be all his fault if his specie was wiped out in the coming days, the other captains hadn't had a hard time making sure he knew that.

Ace continued to walk around the castle til he came to a open balcony. Looking up at the moon made him feel him connected to both sides of him. His Sealins side knew that every time he gazed at the moon he was connect to the water. Somewhere in the world that moon was over a body of water.

He had only inherited a quarter of wolf blood but that didn't mean he  didn't have a strong pull to the moon like his distant brothers, the wolves that could actually shift.

The cold air assulted at his body but he was too deep in thought to really take any notice of his shivering body.

With a tired sigh Captain Ace begun to leave only to freeze when he hear faint whispering, he was going to dismiss it as just another person who couldn't sleep much like himself, til he caught the scent of sea water.

Mer. He knew straightaway.

He ducked his large body close to the floor and peaked out from behind the wall.

A small lithe body paced up and down the corridor. He tried to listen in on the conversation the woman was having but the words were spoke too softly to make out clearly.

Suddenly the woman shrieked and marched towards the balcony; where he was currently hiding. He didn't know why - as he was much strong then the woman appeared - but he felt compiled to hid.

He hadn't even got a clear look at the woman.

Thinking fast Ace jumped over the balcony and held onto the lower railing hoping she wouldn't bother to look down.

Footsteps could be hear right above him, Ace thought he was done for.

"Are you alone?" A commanding static voice asked.

"Yes, no ones awake, I've checked twice," she confirmed.

"Good work Natalie," the man praised.

Natalie? He had feeling she was up to something. Mers were a vicious breed, they cared not for anyone else, so why help with the war?

Ace's grip on the railing was becoming slippery and the thorns of the plant that was wrapped around it was digging into his hands.

He could show himself and drag her to Kris but he wanted to hear as much as he could.
