Deadly Darkness || Chapter Seventeen || Mors And Her Apprentice

*

The second the other guards left Kris sprung up and held Angeles against the wall.

"Why do you lie to your fellow guards, Commander?" Kris sneered.

She was upset and unstable, from being away from her mate so soon knowing he was hurt.

Thoughtlessly Vlader attacked Kris from behind. Hardly paying him mind as she flung him away.

Still looking at Angeles she growled, "You dare attack me, Vlader? After all I've done for you, I could have killed you a hundred times if I so wanted too"

"I'm deeply sorry Kris" he tried to calm her, "Its Angeles, my mate, please your hurting her"

"You mate?" she asked herself aloud, once she comprehended the thought she released her.

"Oww" Angeles cursed as her arse landed hard against the floor.

"Forgiveness Vlader" it wasn't a sorry but it was the closest any other then her mate would get.

"Given" he replied.

"And I don't get a sorry?" Angeles interrupted.

Both Vlader and Kris turned to her, him looking at he with love filled eyes. And Kris seemingly staring of into space.

Snapping to strength attention Kris asked Angeles, "What is with the Collars I can smell on a large sum of the inhabitants of the castle"

"Sit and I will tell you both" she replied.

"Angel come sit here" Vlader called her over and pulled Angeles into his lap, as Kris settled against the wall across from them.

"Angel?" she muttered softy, "Yes you can call me Angel.

"Now where to begin? Aah, okay. When Princess Kristina was killed, he started acting different"

"Different," Vlader interrupted, "how so?"

"Evil. There is no other word for it. His behavior was erratic, he had moments when he was up, the jolly nice Alpha he had been then came the downs. There are hardly words to describe how viscous and cruel he was" Angel seemed to shake as she no doubt remembered,

"He believed that we, his pack were trying to overthrow him so the Collars were introduced, an assurance of discipline, so nobody would step out of line.

"I got my Collar when I tried to help a man King Julian had nearly whipped to death. My mother was an Omega I didn't inherit the title but I grew up with the laws and acts of an omega so it kind of stuck with me.

"The Collars have a shocker that has four levels. Light, a shock to get your attention. Medium, that would have you crawling at the ground in pain. Hard, that hurts a Fucking lot, like your body is burning inside out." she stopped silence, before whispering "finally there is Extreme, more commonly know as DeathWish. Not maybe people survive a shock of such magnitude, and those who do are left nothing but a broken spirit."

Soon Angel had to leave and was replaced by a non-collared guard.

Angel's warning floated back into their minds, "don't trust anyone without a collar, they might reported back to King Julian to stay in his good books. But be careful some Collards are fake used to flush out those who go against the King. Be wise who you trust."
