Casey's POV
We walked in the forest trying to find anything that could make our transportation to the college faster. After a while we came across a car that was tangled in vines, we tried to cut through but walkers we inside.
We all stopped, but Tyreese, no matter how many times we tried to tell him to stop, he wouldn't. The walker fell out and onto him where they fought back and forth until I got tired and just kicked the walker in the head making its brains fly out. Tyreese glared at me mumbling as he got up.
"Michonne, Tyreese, you two work on the vine to the car, the three of us will look inside."
We didn't find much inside, just a walker and a few other things we needed. We came back out and Bob talked to Daryl as he fixed the car. I laid inside the car with my feet out the window listening to Bob's back story. When I heard he thought what happened in the store was his fault I sat up and shook my head.
"Bullshit." I said, Daryl did one last thing and looked back at me.
"Start up the car." I turned the car on and it worked.
Daryl whistled and got the others attention. He waved them over and I got in the back seat sitting in the middle.
A while later we arrived finding the medical center. We searched the first room and grabbed bottles of things that looked useful. Then we went into another room that had pill bottles, I read the list and grabbed as many as I could filling up my bag.
Ten minutes later we quietly walked through the halls looking for an exit. We saw walkers and head for another room, as walkers tried to get in Michonne found a staircase. But there were walkers there too. We could either risk getting infected for face the unknown amount of walkers behind that door. Unknown it is.
Luckily there were only three and we made it out of that room. We were lead to another hall being followed by even more. We had to smash through a window to get out. Bob fell and held tight onto his bag as the walkers pulled at if. We tried to tell him to let go and he never did. When he pulled it back up we found a bottle of some alcohol, and no medicine.
"You should've kept walking." Daryl spat.
After a huge argument that almost got physical I stepped between Bob and Daryl pushing Daryl back.
"We have to keep going." I said and he nodded looking back at Bob.
"If you take one sip before we get those people meds, I will beat you to the ground."
The car ride home was long. Night fell and I started to get tired, I had this bad feeling something was happening at the prison. And in my dream I saw what was happening.
It started off as Hershel talking to a man with a boy laying in the bed beside him. Next thing I know a walker is coming for Hershel, then the boy in the bed bites the man who has a gun trying to shoot the walker.
Everyone is freaking out, everyone is dying. Glenn lays on the ground coughing blood as Lizzie leads a walker with a tube down his throat away from Glenn. Hershel ends up saving Lizzie when she falls to the ground.
Then I'm outside and the fence is breaking, Carl and Rick are running from the herd. They grab guns and start shooting them, the two of them brought down over thirty walkers.
Hershel is in the office with walkers after him. He shoots them one by one as a flash of light blinds my view. I felt helpless in my sleep knowing they were in trouble and I laid motionless in a car.
Maggie shows up blowing the brains out of a walker Hershel was fighting to get Glenn the breathing tube. They get it to Glenn and he's surviving.
Now I see Carol driving away alone, and where she's going I have no clue. Then I see something that's not very clear to me. It's a man, I can tell that, and he has, an eye patch on. I don't know who he is, and I feel I don't want to.
"Casey, Casey!" I was being shook awake.
I jerked up looking around, it was dark and we were still on the road. Before answering questions I just told them to drive faster. I explained my dream and we went full speed ahead.
"It was a dream, why does it matter?" Bob asked.
"We never doubt the immune." Tyreese said giving me a nod and I just smile.
"I mean it's a dream, dreams don't come true."
I turned to Bob with red eyes glaring at him and he moved his head back in fear.
"Say that to my face." My voice as always sounding deep and evil, I smile laughing.
We arrived with in a hour and that whole hour I was filled with anxiety with only one thing running through my head, Carl. I knew they took down the walkers but what if he's infected? Or bit? Or scratched?
I saw lights up ahead and the prison came into view. I saw Carl running down to open the gates and my heart filled with relief. He's ok.
As we drive up they all got out heading for the prison right as I got out I look right at Carl who was looking back at me. Instantly we ran to each other hugging forgetting what ever was in between us before. His hat fell off in the process, I pulled away and rested my forehead against his. As I slowly went back in for the hug he kissed my forehead.
"I'm sorry." I mumbled and he just shushed me.
"I don't need more reminders of all that's been broken. I don't need you to fix, what I'd rather forget."
"Let's forget together." I smiled pulling away from the hug looking into his blue familiar eyes.
We went back to our normal, our normal was laying in the bottom bunk side by side so he could help me sleep. Normal was us, us together.
You have no idea the joy that filled me when I woke up to another kick, and that one word, that replied with two words.
"Sorry."
"Good morning." (I swear if you people still don't get this reference, it's gonna be in every book)
We both laughed about it and noticed Rick didn't wake us up. So we both got up and got ready heading outside. Rick didn't want to bother us and he wanted us to sleep in.
We went in the garden to check on the crops and they were growing. Rick found a pod with three peas, he gave one to me, one to Carl, and ate one himself. And they were good, and we were going to try and start over.
Little did I know we were being watched.
Rick's POV
I woke up this morning and I was relieved as I saw that familiar paper folded on my nightstand.
'I am alive, and I'm not going anywhere.'
