Guyssss, I'm pumped, not only is it October it's the Carl Poppa chapter!!!
Casey's POVThe weight of the world lifted off my shoulders and I smiled laughing in relief. I threw off the dead walkers and dropped next to Carl. I kept my hands on his cheeks and he didn't wake to my touch. I gave him a small smack and still nothing, he was alive at least.
I picked him up in my arms, my eyes red, my smile large. As I walked down the road I couldn't help but remember back at the farm, when I first carried Carl when he was shot. Things don't change.
I kicked down the door and walked inside. I went upstairs and laid him on the bed in a room that had to belong to a boy our age. I kissed Carl's head and went back downstairs to Rick. He had a bullet wound that was pretty nasty, I don't know how long he was out, but I know I need to fix it.
I searched the house and used some things from my bag to work my magic on his wound. Within thirty minutes he was all patched up, but still unconscious. I heard footsteps from upstairs and I smiled hearing them come down the stairs. I stood there watching him slowly walk down the steps confused. He turned the corner and saw me from down the hall.
A smile grew on his face and we both ran for each other. I jumped into his arms and he was speechless. We backed away and just took a moment to look at each other. I stared into his familiar ocean eyes.
"You're alive." He smiled.
"So are you." I replied placing my hand on his cheek.
(Guys here it comes!!! The moment I've been waiting for since I've started writing this!!! It might be unexpected it might not be)
Before we went off to search the houses I told him to take a minute to recover. We sat by Rick's feet leaning against the couch. He took my hand and squeezed it, we both didn't want to let go.
"I took her, she was safe, hopefully still is."
"Who?" He asked.
"Judith, I had her, and I walked away for a moment and she was gone, I think Carol took her." Relief filled his eyes and I said Judith's name.
"I thought she was dead! You saved her." He smiled hugging me.
As I backed away I once again put my hand against his cheek. We just stared into each other's eyes falling deeply into a pit of something we could never escape. Slowly we got closer inching to each other, nothing could get in between us.
His lips, my lips, together. Sweet and passionate. But the only word in my head that could describe my second kiss with Carl Grimes is, perfect. I didn't think I was going to die, we weren't in danger. It was just me and him, perfectly imperfect.
We pulled away after a moment and rested our heads against each other's. I grabbed his hand and smiled and he smiled back. This would be more perfect if his father wasn't passed out behind us.
"We should get back out there, clear the area." He said and I nodded.
Hand in hand we walked down the street with a gun ready for anything. When we finally got all around I had killed about five walkers, he killed three. We went back to the house and I realized I had left my bag where I found Carl.
"Damn it, I left my bag, I'll be back."
"Stay safe." He said and I turned around and smiled.
I walked back out and found my bag picking it up. I looked down at the dead walkers and kicked them to make sure they were dead. I went back to the house only to hear yelling. He was listing off names of the people who have died. I could hear the sadness and anger in his voice as I walked in.
"Now you're just nothing." He sat by Ricks feet and I came in, he got back up and I walked over to in pulling him in a hug.
"It's ok." I whispered.
"No it's not."
"But it's ok to think about."
"It feels so bad."
"That's ok too. There's nothing else you could've done."
"I don't want feel this way."
"You have to, you have to be honest about it so you can move on, that's how it was for me."
"I don't know how to move on, Casey."
"I can help you, you're not alone, I'm never going to leave you, ever again."
We walked in silence back outside to raid the houses. He carried at bag around his shoulder as we walked looking for a house. When we found one we went in the yard and stopped. He pulled out a yard light that had a pointed end and walked up to the door. I stood back as he used his shoulder to try and break in. He fell to the ground and I was behind him giggling.
"Damn it." He mumbled. "What's so funny?"
"You don't use your shoulder, that's how you dislocate it, you use your foot."
I walked up and kicked in the door and I looked back at him smiling, he just shook his head. We went inside quietly and raised the kitchen, as he cleared a cabinet I looked up and laughed.
"Give me a boost." I said and he lifted me up on the counter.
I grabbed the large pound of pudding and he laughed too. I set it down and hopped down, he went upstairs while I kept looking in the kitchen.
Everything was fine until I heard gunshots, I quickly ran upstairs to find a walker over Carl. I felt stupid not even thinking of being my weapons up here. He was out of bullets, my gun was downstairs. I kicked the walker in the head giving Carl time to run in a room while I ran down stairs grabbing my gun.
I ran back up and they were both in a room. I went in and held my gun up, but it wasn't s clear shot, Carl was in the way.
"Come on Carl!" I shouted and he hit the walker with a lamp and ran over with one shoe on. I finally shot the walker and we shut the door. As I caught my breath he took some chalk and wrote,
Walker got my shoe, but not me.
I hugged him and sighed into his shoulder. We went back down and grabbed the pudding along with two spoons. We went through a window and sat on the roof eating the pudding. It was finally nice to be in silence, in peace, eating way to much pudding.
