Casey's POV
"What?" I asked, my voice cracking. I must've heard Glenn wrong, Noah can't be dead.
"I'm sorry, Casey, I know you were friends." I felt my world crash into me. Not just because Noah died, but because I have no one left to talk to. Carl stormed out on me, everyone else has their own problems to worry about, and now Noah is dead. "Please don't cry, Casey." Glenn sighed. "You're going to make me cry."
"I- I have to go."
I turned on my heels and ran back for the house that was luckily empty. I went to my room and shut the door collapsing on the bed. As the tears rolled down my cheeks I began to scream. "Why won't you burn! Why won't you feel anything! You're a freak!" I tossed the lamp against the wall. Glass shards flew back at me cutting into my arm. Blood ran down my arm and I sat down taking deep breaths. I'm bleeding. I don't remember the last time I actually have bled. Don't tell me I can't turn anymore?
I held my breath thinking of all the anger in me and I felt myself turn. In the mirror I saw my red eyes and I sighed laying down. I just watched myself bleed instead of putting a bandage over it. I just laid their listening to the silence of the house. I couldn't leave until I got myself under control.
"Casey?" There was a knock at the door. "Can I come in?" Maggie's familiar accent rang through the room muffled by the door.
"Yeah." I sat up as Maggie walked in, she looked at the broken lamp and sighed. She looked over at me and sat on the bed. Before she said anything she looked at my bleeding arm. She got up and disappeared out the door coming back with a bandage.
"Glenn told me what happened." She said wrapping it around my arm. "Do you want to talk about it?" I just shrugged. "Where's Carl?"
"Carl is gone." I said harshly she looked surprised by my tone.
"Oh." Is all she said after cutting the bandage then setting it next to her. "So you're having boy troubles too?"
"Something like that. It's my fault. (1) All I did was fail today. I got in a fight with Carol because I was upset and he heard it and said a few things. I don't know what to do. He's mad at me, and I'm hurt by his words. I don't know why he would say that. He knows me, he know how hurt I can get."
"Maybe you should forgive him, and then he can forgive you."
"But that's not how we usually makeup in fights."
"How do you usually makeup in fights?"
"One of us ends up almost dying." I shrugged and she smiled looking at her lap.
"Well it's good for some change. I'll be Carl, and you say what you'd say to real Carl." She shifted to face me with a smile.
"Really?" I asked giggling.
"Yes come on now."
"I'm sorry for lashing out like that. I didn't mean to upset you. And I forgive you for what you said to me, will you please forgive me." I said blandly and she narrowed her eyes shaking her head.
"Glenn and I are married and still somehow you and Carl are more in love than us. If you don't act like you love him he won't know you love him." I smiled a little. I repeated myself but with more emotion. "Yes perfect! Let's go out there and find him."
"I can't go out there. Have you heard what those people are saying about me? They think I'm a monster, I'm surprised you guys haven't given up on me." I sighed laying back and staring at the ceiling.
(2) "I don't care what they say about you, they don't know what you've been through. Whenever your ready to come out and face the world, I'll be by your side. If you need me I'll be at Deanna's house." She kissed my forehead before leaving.
