hap·pi·ness: the state of being happy.
NJHyou know those little moments you treasure? like the ones with your family sitting around a fireplace, drinking hot chocolate on a cold winter night? or hanging out with good friends and having snowball fights? those moments really are precious. those are the kind of memories you keep locked in yourself, to cheer yourself up on rainy days.
it's a shame those moments never last too long.
joohyuk. how to explain such a twisted and complicated boy. to sum it all up, he's tired. he's tired of his mother's boyfriend sharp slap against his soft right cheek, he's tired of his mother's sniffles in the corner of the room, and above all, he's tired of seeing the same scenes over and over again. him not being much of a family boy, would wonder around the neighborhood until night would fall, somedays not even coming back home which resulted in another slap the next morning. pain is all joohyuk had ever felt all of his life and he had no cure to stop it.
whilst still a child, joohyuk's life was not always like this. he remembers vague memories of his family coming together and celebrating holidays together and being happy. small portions of events that brought on a little smile when remembered, but those memories were long gone.
june sixteenth the day joohyuk was born had been an unpredictable day. at a blooming age of 19, choi jiyeon was laying in bed feeling fatigue, as it was a few days until her day for delivery and she was feeling a bit scared. she looked up to the celling, imagining what life would be like after her child would finally be in her arms. at his finest, 21 year old nam habin opens the door to check on his beloved.
"you okay?" his honey voice soothed her and worries began to disappear. "now i am." she smiled. he sat by her and rubbed her round belly. "almost here." he smiled to himself, thinking of his child. "i know! i'm really excited." she squealed. he looked up at his woman, feeling a wave of happiness overcome him, and gave her a peck on the lips. "we're really excited." he corrected, returning her smile.
she scoffed, "excuse me, last time i checked, i have been carrying this baby around for 9 months, not you. i am clearly more excited for this thang to pop out!" she laughed. "but i've been taking care of you while running my company for 9 months." he counters back. "your father's company." "practically mine," he reassured and her laugh filled the room.
"well, it's good to know that he or she will be brought up into such a wonderful family business. yes, i got knocked up by the greatest guy to be knocked up by." giving her a stern look, she giggled. "why didn't you check the gender? i wanna know what i'm working with here." he smiled a bit, thinking of the possibilities. "i hope it's a girl," jiyeon thought, "then we'd be pampered by our daddy wouldn't we?" she rubbed her belly smiling.
